as someone making my way back to mountain biking after taking a short break, it just kinda rubs me the wrong way that the trails very few used to know are now accessible to the masses via an electric motorcycle. riding in the woods has always been my favorite way to avoid the masses right under their noses. those days seem to be numbered.
c'est la vie.
You should have been in the woods during lock down.

Someone please put a picture frame around this post and label it as the classic uninformed quote.
It's OK you been away for a short break so it's understandable, your in the group most likely to own an electric motorscooter 🤣

Well to be fair to @Meineke they could be referring to an electric dirtbike.

So I have never ridden an adventure bike.. only fully on moto cross and enduro dirt bikes.....but when I see "544 pounds" "and offroad" Holy crap...thats more than double the weight of my last CRF450

Depends on how light is light. Don't have the super light weight. I'm at around 40 lbs with Fox 36 Float Factory Grip 2 and a new Float X shock (2022 model Rise). Yes, it has Rekon on the rear but not thin cased. EXO+ casing made special for Orbea. Still relatively light weight. The gripe is with the grip with that as a rear tire. Dissector on the front will go to the rear when the Rekon wears out, which won't be long.

May be the angle or something because those knobs look absolutely huge for a Rekon.

I was. just not very often.

thats ok by me. I just thought Jay's first post was a solicitation for opinions.

thanks, Joe, but they're right. I was referring to e-bikes.
but to be clear, I am completely aware my opinion isn't any worth any more than any one here who currently rides one. to each their own.

I would just say in my experience in the past few years....with the gain in popularity of e-bikes.....I certainly see more people on ebikes, but at least locally (in north jersey where its technical) I haven't run into a bunch of noob bikers who are now headed out to the trails because they can ride them ebikes. I'd say the vast majority of the people I know/see are those who have ridden for many years and now for whatever the reason, they have switched to ebikes. As in, I dont think the volume of riders has increased drastically due to the popularity of ebike....hell any ebike that can handle north jersey tech is going to be pretty expensive. So I dont think new riders are running out to buy them....I mean not ones you are going to see at mooch anyway.

Oh, and it's not supposed to be an exclusive club. The more people actively riding, the better for everyone. Trails will be cared for and new trails systems will be built to accommodate increased use and interest, theoretically. If you want solitude, stay in your room.
