I thought this was an interesting take on ebikes.
Man comments on that article still show how uninformed people are. Gaslighting because it doesn't fit into their square.

Interesting article. Even more interesting than the article itself are the comments and I bet most of the haters have never ridden a Class 1 eMTB which is what the article is talking about and they certainly have an elitist attitude. In the article they used the words "arrogance" and "jealousy" and that's spot on but I would also add the word "ignorance".

The problem skiers had with snowboarders was their complete lack of mountain etiquette.
Groups of snowboarders sitting across trails blocking access. Riding out of control and hitting people because of their blind-spot.
Doesn't seem as bad as it used to be though. Probably because snowboarders used to be mostly kids and now it's adults.

Ever ski at hunter lol? Same could be said for NY jets/giants jacket wearing skier who are time bombs lol...

Why would someone ski into a blind spot?
Bad skiers and boarders panic speed-check across the trail. Good ones do it while holding a line.

The collective noun for snowboarders is a clog. Chicken is a bucket, monkeys is a barrel, etc

I think it was the grating noise of the board.

Here you go @JimN 🤣

Its nothing like snowboarding, more like comparing road riding to mountain biking. You're still sliding down the mountain, just in a different way. Just like with road vs. MTB you're still pedaling, just in different venue. I think the fundamental issues with ebikes vs. real bikes has more to do with the rationale people make up to justify an easier way to ride (yes, it is easier) and also ties back to how mountain biking started, and the early mountain biking culture and community that is now mostly gone.

This is the real reason for any hate that existed. This, and there's nothing better than watching a couple noobs on a snowboards slide sideways down a trail that they shouldn't be on just flattening all the fresh pow.

I know. People gonna hate. 🤷‍♂️

Based on the comments section…. (which by the way haven’t we learned to ignore the comments sections of articles like this? )

People hate:
Ebikes (class 1, 2, and 3)
Roadies
XC riders
Carbon bikes
Aluminum bikes
Steel bikes
Singlespeed bikes
12 speed bikes
All Geared bikes
Snowmobiles
Motorcycles
People in shape
People out of shape
Skiers
Snowboarders
