Don't piss off the red guy
I love my Rise and not even thinking about replacement it but if I were to buy one today I'd probably get the Trek Fuel EXe 9.7

Are there any clear leaders in the motor/battery technology yet or are they relatively the same at this point?
Interwebs say bosch gen 4
I have shimano ep8 with no complaint yet but dont pull up ep8 in FB, lol.
The players that have been doing it like bosch shimano brose Yamaha seem to got the bugs under control. Id personally give the newbies a couple years before i tried.

Went to George Washington National Forest last week with the Rise. The place is neat!

Did you encounter any trail limitations? Last time there E-bikes were prohibited on non-motorized trails, including trails open to bicycles.
I didn't encounter any limitations. And the only other riders (2) that I came across were also on emtbs. They were local to the area.

You're right on about the regs.

Electric bikes (e-bikes) can be used on Forest System lands only where motor vehicles are allowed.

The George Washington and Jefferson National Forests offer over 1,655 miles of roads and over 68 miles of trails open to motorized recreation.

Hey! If you ride a med or XL and are a serious ebike buyer, send me a DM. We have some ebikes we need to move to make room for the new stuff on the horizon.
