Yesterday
Lifestyle change. I used to ride at like 5:00 am. Now I ride after 5:00 pm. Riding is riding, but I have to say it's harder to go out after work. Though, admittedly the temps are warmer. So that's a huge win. Maybe I can wear the summer shoes again all winter?
I did get a local KOM, which was nice. There's another 1 in my hood I need to get. No, this is not a real M, but so what. Most of these aren't real Ms. I did try for 1 more but felt sluggish so I half-assed it. I'll get it eventually. Need to make sure I own this town again.
That is, wherever Moritz has allowed we mere mortals to pretend we are Ks of the Ms.
Today/Tonight
Grabbed lunch with a friend today. I guess I could technically ride at lunch but I never really liked that. Eating is better, especially when you are in good company, like today.
After my EOD call I'll head out on the bike. Time really doesn't matter anymore. I'm just gonna go home and drink wine. So the later I go the less wine I'll likely consume that night. I may open the Mark West, which is something Shaggz was going on about. But since he doesn't return my texts, I have no idea what his deal is anymore.
No set plans for the ride. I usually just go these days. I felt good when I was done yesterday so maybe a little life still remains in these legs. Going to try and grind out some low tempo work for a while I think.
Comments
Jeremy - I assume you're referring to Strava. The Verizon guy was actually the first guest to the party. And as he's standing in the kitchen with our backs to us trying to wire this thing up, Matty/Patty & I are having this conversation about the separation and my life up to this point. I can't help but smiling at this, the guy is just an unwilling participant to my personal life, and both Matty/Patty as they shared some of their experiences as well.
Then a few more guests came and he was still tooling around the house fixing stuff trying to get it to work. Eventually he did, and the phone worked. So he went home. I tried the wifi and it did not work, but that's because you need to activate on the website first. Come on, what kind of plug & play is that?
When he was leaving I offered him a beer. He declined.
ChrisRU - IDK. Is your computer on?
Walter - duly noted. Pics?
Mandi - you know I love you. But I'm questioning the wisdom of hanging out on the other side of a door that stands between the party and the beer. I hope this comment doesn't get me relegated to the corner like Pearl was. I also missed the opportunity to get a pic of him with the Hello Kitty cup.
I like how having a daughter gives me a free pass to have Hello Kitty stuff. Like Hello Kitty high heels and stockings...
Utah - Yeah the bedroom is in some need of love but I put all my efforts into making the living/dining room area better first. Failing the artwork, it's pretty solid. I think Patty wants to donate a plant for the Pearl Corner (henceforth known as this).
I think Eric broke it first. Megan 3rd. Don't remember who was 2nd.
No comment on the NJT situation. I may end up going back to work next week. Maybe, but looks like not yet.
Robin - Just so everyone knows Robin cleaned up the condo and even took out the garbage bags before she left. This is a great way to get yourself invited back to my house repeatedly. In fact, Robin has an open invite every *day* to come by and have some beers, now that I think about it.
I really don't need any more gravy boats though.
Carson - sadly not. I'll be part of the crew that makes the day go. Jim has given me a free pass on the race help because he knows I can't really do much right now. So I've been given nothing to do. I checked in with him yesterday to see what he needs, and the race looks good though we may need some game day volunteers.
I have a dinner that night so I won't be able to stick out until the sun goes down anyway. But I'll be there for most of it.
Behold
The awesome gravy boat!
