Bought new, think its a 96. Still accelerates like a scalded cat and not a rattle or a creak. Great bike! Plan is to put the original fork and some smooth tires on, make it a townie.
On the subject, anyone know if current riser bars would fit it, or have the diameters changed? Thx!

I just wiped the dust off it 🙂 Got it back in (probably) '95. I had their mothership for a season as well, but that was more of a loaner that I returned to them after the season. Should've just kept that one too 🙁
Some minor cracks in the headtube, but I can't get rid of it. One of the best bikes I ever rode. The geometry was/is awesome

Nice thread. I love seeing the old Spec's.
I wish I could post a pick of my 1988 DiNucci green Rockhopper,
but sadly I donated it a while back.
Regrets, I have a few.

Who remembers Biopace?

Handlebar diameter should be the same (25.4mm) as long as it's not the more recent oversize bar (31.8mm).

If you decide to switch out the stem for a shorter one, make sure you measure your steerer tube diameter. The older bikes sometimes have 1" steerer tubes.

good to see some action (and pics) in the CV thread - hehe - i asked if we could have a CV section but they advised a thread would be better as there might not be enough action to warrant a section - but hey - lets keep the pics and comments coming

Here's my '94 Cannondale Killer V. Rode it from '94-'10. As my only bike, it took my everywhere from Wiss to Jim Thorpe to Ceres to Vermont. The frame was the only original part left on it and easily saw 10,000 miles. I hated to get ride of it but 26er hardtail with 70mm of travel and a 40ish rider was taking it's toll on my back. Found it a good home and now ride a diSSent which lines reminds me of my old Killer V.

Good info, I'll check that out before hitting fleabay. Thanks. 😉

'92 Bontrager OR Racelite.

I know I've posted this here before, but it's actually applicable in this thread. Sweet. I truly love this bike. Now has XT 770 cranks and Charge Spoon saddle. Let's see more!

Love the Marin Marley! It reminds me of my first road bike, a Marin with the same fade as yours with blue & yellow too. It was a tank but it was still great. Sadly it was stolen sometime after I loaned it to a kid on my street a few years ago.
I've got a '98 GT Lightning collecting dust though, I'll get a couple of good pics and post 'em up.
My purple '93 Rockhopper is on extended loan to my buddy. (he keeps an eye on it)
