Chimney Rock Conditions

Haha you’re up next for the bike pic!
I spent more time cleaning my bike then riding it! It was only my second time on this bike so I may have been extra sensitive.
I did almost the entire park and each mud bog hurt more and more. By the time I got to blue I was like WTF.

Have we seen or heard what the bike is/was? I see a ton of stuff for sale from it.

(My turn to derail the CR thread)

We have not seen it.. But here you go -

Epic 8 Evo. Like you said, I swapped a ton of parts but my 3 favorite upgrades are the Fox 34 SL which is a noticeable improvement over the other fox forks I've ridden. The 210mm OneUp dropper. 210mm comes with a weight penalty, but it is pretty awesome to get that low. And of course, the upgrade from Transmission to Eagle AXS. Yes, you read that right.
I'm still playing around with stem/bar combinations so this current slammed stem and ENVE bar is probably only temporary.

PS - The trails are little muddy but ok to ride. Apparently.

Ha yeah I know what you mean on keeping the new bike clean. IMO it was not as bad out there as the bikes suggest.

Anyone been out recently? Is it too muddy to ride tomorrow?
Its a bit wet. Maybe the afternoon it will be better. I went out and did a small portion of orange and from the gravel lot. It was enough for me to turn around. Crap picture but more ridding would have me supper muddy.

Wasn’t horrible, lots of standing water, but wasn’t really muddy.. irrelevant now since the skies just opened up.. I think tomorrow will be a mess but start drying out - maybe decent on Sunday.. maybe. 🤞🤞

The Middle Brook stream crossing was already running high before the rain, can’t imagine what it’ll look like when this round stops.

One big tree down on yellow, just before crossing Miller Lane.

And thanks for the cleanup/trimming on green/yellow!

Mostly dry, the standing water areas from last week are now mud spots.. it’s not perfect, you’ll get dirty but that’s the way CR is. If you know the park and the usually messy spots to avoid, you’ll be good.

This was discouraging though.. it’s part of the new area the hard working crew is currently working on and sad to see so many tracks through it… 🤦🏻

If this is where I think it is, this is a short-term situation. Kirt & Jay put in a pipe but it was a sopping mess when they did. I think Jay dug out some proper drainage and added a pipe. And spread out 45 tons of cat litter.

Long-term this should not be a problem area once everything settles in. Yeah it's still a bit messy now, but it should be ok eventually.

It’s where you think!🤣 I know it’s all a work in progress, I didn’t mean disheartening that it was not dried out. I meant that others didn’t see it was still being worked on and try to avoid it.

I love the work J and Kirk and the rest of the crew have put in, I’m in awe every time I go and have to figure out the new routes. They are a team of magicians.

This spot held a lot of water. It was more trial AND error than I expected. It might take weeks to dry out, but when it does it should stay dry...

I'm gonna try to rework it a bit more in the AM, but it's a tricky spot.

The bigger issue I am seeing is tracks from high powered motorcycles on the trail. These guys need to be discouraged when you see them. I hope I don't see them when I am out there for their sake.
