Chimney Rock Conditions

I tried using it for the first time on the tree below a few weeks ago. This is at the beginning climb on red, Newman's side. Unfortunately, I failed and the saw got stuck about halfway through it. Probably because I'm still out of shape and haven't been to the gym? Who knows...But now I'm interested in buying that pocket chainsaw that @jdog mentioned and giving that a try for these larger trees.

Whether chain, hand saw, or chain saw, you have to think how the tree is going to move, how it is loaded, or you can pinch the blade.

Based on trailforks user community trail conditions most of CR is safe to ride. Based on Jason’s post yesterday that might not be true.

Trails were a bit damp during a hike this morning, seems riders stayed away so the reports are working. Should be primo by Tuesday

Is there a consensus for trail conditions today? I was going to head out after work around 4

Based on what I saw on yellow yesterday, I’m going to give it a shot this evening. I know yellow is not the best proxy for the rest of the park, I’ll be prepared to do repeats on yellow if need be, but I’m thinking other areas will be OK

I did this and I’d say 4.5. Too muddy for me. Not bad enough to turn around, but over the course of the ride there are some pretty crappy sections. You won’t do any damage, but you are going to be cleaning your bike for a while.

Got out tonight with Kirt.
MOSTLY GOOD.
Ballfield was fine.
Black was ok the trail up from the lot was a river. Stayed near the river both ways. Cromwell was Awesome. Like really good.
Orange was fine
Red was fine
Blue looked promising as we saw a guy come out. Bike looked ok.
BLUE IS NOT OK.
GIVE IT A MONTH.
White was ok . Just stayed closed to the reservoir.
Connector back to the lot was bad. It always is. https://strava.app.link/ERPkj5AHUTb
