Chimney Rock Conditions

Conditions were overall very good yesterday (Monday). Some mud on Ballfields and Upper Blue but everything else nice and dry. Newmans lot was packed with cars waiting both when we entered and exited blue trails. Plenty of parking at ballfields lot (including new extension), where we parked.

Pretty much good to go. Some wet spots here and there but surprisingly good after yesterday rain. Leaves are coming down already. #too soon. Enjoy!!!

Conditions were superb on Yellow today. Someone trimmed back all of the trails recently — I imagine that @Kirt and HighTech were involved. Thank you...the riding was great!

There are a tone of angry yellowjackets on yellow on the first piece of trail before the hawk watch and main vein junction closest to the parking lot. Had a nasty crash and landed on them. Probably got stung 10 times on top of all the other crap.

Damn man. You look like you got caught in a mosh pit. I guess I can see how chimney rock on a bad day would compare to a mosh pit though.

Busted a paddle shifter. Already modified it with a bent washer and tape. It works fine but already have a replacement shifter on the way.

first ride there all year for me yesterday. Driest I've ever seen it - and bonus ran into @FitmanNJ on top of the blue climb. But man like every other big park around here, saw more hikers than I've ever seen before (mostly on red).

Ballfields lot is PACKED for a softball tournament. Avoid!

10/1 Park is in great shape, the rain helped a bunch and very little standing water. Leaves are a coming though.

10/2 we did a bunch of trimming today and white and red are completely done. Some of it ended up on trails so it may be a little messy for a bit. But trails are surprisingly dry after last nights rain so have at it.

Take the route from the ballfields down through the frisbee course and you'll hit it head on
