Now, like, I know we go a little crazy with the derailling of threads. And yes, this is a derailling of the original derailment. But, and you know I'm all for going silly with the best of them, I think this one is just off the track. You know, like going straight past the Alter, heading down the ramp, and out the door...

That one's much easier to get. Anyone?

Space Balls. that was a high-arc pitch. got anything better?

One of my all-time favorites also. What I really like is little things, hitting each other. That's what I like! They are all freaks! Not one of them under five foot six. What kind of theater is this?

now you have to go Gilliam on me...

even though this a derailment of the original derailment, and I have a feeling this may be a third iteration of derailment at this point, going to Monty Python sort of ties in to the original derailment with mention of the Trebuchet, which immediately brought to mind The Fling, which brought to mind Holy Grail, which caused Chris's initial disappointment about flinging a cow, since Monty Python had done it already, which prompted my post "Jetez le bici" in jest of "Jetez la vache!" wherein vache = cow.

hmmmm.

Interestingly, he and I share a birthday. Why, why, why! Because it's all logic and reason now. Science, progress, laws of hydraulics, laws of social dynamics, laws of this, that, and the other. No place for three-legged cyclops in the South Seas. No place for cucumber trees and oceans of wine. No place for me.

Game Over. You win.

I could have used Google but I do not cheat. Now that I've given in, I'll tell you the quote is from the Adventures of Baron Munchausen.

I forced this one just to stay with Gilliam. All the other quotes I knew, but looked up for the exact wording. This one I just looked up blindly from the movie. I saw it a long time ago and don't actually remember any of it. So I don't know this quote. Should have stuck with ones from memory.

so we both sort of win....?

good game. back to work now 😡

I would say "Jetez le vélo" because "bici" doesn't mean anything. There is "bicyclette" but you might as well say "Draisinne" (sounds ridiculous).

Those movie quotes flew a million miles over my head.

Anyone wants to do hill repeats at RV today?

Cheers,

Maurice

"bici" is slang or, more appropriately, a kind of diminutive for biciclette. but "velo" is the appropriate vocab word in the lexicon of Latinate languages.

I cannot keep my mind on work today. It is 70 degrees and sunny...

Are you sure you are not confusing with Italian? Haven't heard that, even in Quebec.

Actually there is a quote I remember from Holy Grail that involves a french castle, but I'm ashamed of it...

Maurice

which quote?

when I was in Europe in general "bici" was used by youth often, I was with a group of people from all over the continent so maybe it was just a term of convenience everyone adopted. I was told it came from "biciclette." By the time summer was over, I do not think I learned much of a new language with all the bastardized terms we kept using to communicate. but it was a good trip...
