Cars, it's electric! Do Do Do

I wonder if it'll get to a point where it's indistinguishable from an actual dead animal and cheaper than animal agriculture (would animal agriculture even survive without all the subsidies), where they start using it in restaurants and store shelves to cut cost. You'll end up eating it without even knowing.

I doubt it. Muscles are more than just muscle cells. Need connective cell sheaths and areas of fat cells for texture and flavor.

part of the reason I'd have to switch of course. The paranoia level would be high lol.

Its science (in this case biochemistry and physiology), that's the beauty of it, it exists whether you believe in it or not.
Ok, we can digest meat, we are omnivores. But is there any benefit to it? Too much correlates to disease. And all healthy diets suggest increasing plant intake and reducing animal intake.

Easier to get protein and calcium. I have always been a proponent of moderation. Our diet is probably closer to the Mediterranean diet. We eat red meat once a week. Everything else is chicken, seafood or pork. And always low fat (trim away visible fat).

I prefer chicken and fish over pork and beef.
Baked grouper and chicken tikka marsala are top choice.
Sadly this happened.

I had an Indian colleague at work who was a strict vegetarian. But with all the butter they use in cooking, he had heart disease.

From an evolutionary perspective, yes, and there are new studies that suggest that introducing meat into our diets is what increased our cranial sized and gave us an evolutionary advantage. Plus omnivores are naturally more successful because they have more dietary options. Conversely, in the modern world, you can still be healthy eating an all vegetable diet, it just takes more work, planning, and money. I just happen to enjoy the flavor and texture of meat, chicken, fish, etc., like zillions of others.

Like Rick mentioned, moderation is the key, going on a strict carnivorous diet isn't exactly healthy. We eat meat once or twice a week, eat lots of chicken and fish, and always have veggies. We're also big fruit eaters. Having something like a steak happens only a couple of times a month, and ribs and brisket are enjoyed when the weather is conducive to smoking.

Eh, actually the latest studies throw that into question. It's far more nuanced and complicated than that.

Clearing more forest for farmland isn't the answer. If people really cared about the environment they' all get vasectomies

I’ll add that evolution does not care about getting you to 90, so our “evolved” diet will be for optimal performance to about 40. The book Paleomyths did a nice job covering the misconceptions about an evolved diet with the primary take away being there is no single diet for humans, it varied a lot based on region and time period and as species capable of adapting to new diet very quickly.. I.e digesting dairy.

My friends that are Indian say forget chicken and go with goat.

Interesting point on age and diet.
A plant based diet can be healthy for an adult but detrimental for a growing child, to the point that in Belgium a parent can be arrested for forcing a vegan diet on a child.

It can be detrimental to any age if you're not eating actual food. Kids in Belgium can eat a vegan diet, it's just when parents feed them nothing but Oreos is when they are screwed up. That's why they said that. I vaguely remember there being a case that started that. Parents were vegan, but ate nothing but processed shit and the kid was screwed up because of it, not because they were vegan, because they were unhealthy vegans. And that goes with omnivores too. If a kids diet is purely McDonald's and burger king, do you think they're gonna develop normally? That article is extremely biased. Vegan, plant based, diet is more than adequate at any point in the lifespan.

If planned correctly - that's the key point. If not, a child could be getting inadequate protein, calories, calcium, etc

It was 6 degrees F this morning and the Model 3 did not have regen braking for over 10 minutes. Also the charge port was not opening due to the flash freeze we had last night.
Had to use defrost for a while to get it thawed out.

@JerseyPete oh you new at this? 😆
Don’t auto fold your windows either.
The frameless windows are probably the most inconvenient thing and it’s not waiting at a SC. Direct your vents towards the sides/windows so when you pre condition car it helps the frozen windows if you have that problem.

But other cars have problems too. I can’t even turn the key in one of my other cars because the key core insides is frozen. Not primary car. OTOH I saw gas’ers at Costco definitely waited 15-30min for gas.
