Car-spotting thread

It's completely nuts right now. My car is 10-15 over what I paid. Similar cars to mine at dealers are 140 to 150 now. A 2018 GT3 Touring in Chalk was listed on Rennlist last night at 5pm for 180 (MSRP was 174) and had a deposit for over asking (undisclosed) at 7pm.

I paid $20,700 for my 2019 GLI. It now has 10K miles on it and Carvana value is $23,200.

Did you see this yesterday?

I hadn't really been paying attention, but anyone looking to get rid of a recent performance car should do it now. I checked the value of the GS and I can sell it for $10K more than I bought it for. Looks like the same across most performance models.
It's not just performance cars. Carvana offers almost what I paid for my used CPO Suburban 3 years and 50k miles ago.

Any car shows around Northern NJ this Friday? Boonton is not scheduled for this Friday, and newjerseycarshows.com shows nothing for this weekend. Figured with Memorial Day weekend there’d be something in the area but unless I’m not looking in the right places I’m finding squat. What about Somerville Fridays? Couldn’t tell from their website for sure.

Just checked the GT350 for the heck of it - $10K less than I paid for it 3.5 years/31K miles ago.

haha i went on carvana and did the free quote on my CPO 2013 Santa Fe 2.0T just for the heck of it. I bought it in 2016 with 35K on it and now it only has 62K on it. Between WFH pre covid, 1 year of unemployment, and now WFH during Covid I have barely driven this thing anywhere. Lucky for me the major repairs I had done like when the AWD differential exploded were 100% covered under the drivetrain warranty.

I did the free Guess-timate quote since I didnt want to add my VIN or License plate and get emails and phone calls. They quoted me only 7K less than I paid for it I would consider that a win if I was selling it.

A good source for car stuff.

Anyone actually do a Carvana (or similar) sell? I need to sell my Dad's Escalade, 2016 w/6k miles, annual maintenance...
I used Carvana to get rid of a commuter car with about 160K miles. The 2011 Elantra was valued at $775 with Carvana and the transaction was very smooth. Came with a check, looked it over, drove it onto the flatbed and done. No calls, no "no shows", no weirdos, just email and agree on a time and date. Done.

It can't hurt to give them the plates and see what they offer.
