This sucks, I was really hoping that I could ride today. I can't even open my door. there's a 2 foot drift in front of it.

Going to do some house chores that have been neglected and perhaps later Take the snow shoes out for a walk.

there's a good foot out there now. which sucks big time.....
all work and no ride make mike something something....

Stupid Snow - Global Warming?

Woke up 6:30 hoping for 3 inches of fluff. Went back to bed and then hit the trainer watching Metal Mania. Next phase is to start shoveling. At least I stocked up on beer and alcohol last night. Looks like road rides for while till the trails clear or head up north.

Anyone been here since the blizzard? Snow packed enough yet to at least hike?

was there today to xc ski. allaire is in sad shape, the wet snow has matted down the mountain laurel's. the single track is hard to recognize, the only people on the trails were hunters in snow shoes.
its not a good idea to hike or snow shoe on the trail because there are plants literally draped over the trails from wet snow. I left after 20 mins so as not to damage the vegetation that defines the trails.

Bummer I picked up my new Specialized Pitch comp yesterday and i have no where to try it out. 🙁

Im praying next weekend might be better. Its going to be in the mid to upper 30s and sunny alot of the week.

Unfortunately that can only be bad...The trails will be bogs by the weekend🙁 Its going to take a while for things to dry out. Hopefully the temp drops next weekend and it freezes over! Maybe up north will have better conditions:hmmm:

The best hope in the near-term future is for the snow to melt, pack real tight, then freeze solid for a few days. Then you can ride on top of it.

Otherwise, April is a good bet 🙂

even after all is melted and firmed up I would imagine a lot of trees and such will be down. 🙁

anyone up for a road ride...

It better not be april i want to use this new FS mtb before i go back to work!

Or i could just bring my dads 1985 peugeot P9 road bike in for a tune up and new tires. That thing is an all original classic! LOL

I'll post some pics when I ride by on the road tomorrow. The place is destroyed. The lot is not plowed and there are trees down every 10 feet. When the snow does melt we are going to need a trail clearing party.
