Book of Paul H

@Paul H congrats on the new job. I was working 70 hours a week the past couple of years and it got old as well. @JerseyPete recently I said that I was taking a break from High Mountain then rode there last weekend. The trail system has taken a beating the past few years. Not sure how you ride there regularly without damaging your bike. For that matter, don’t know how @Mtbdog rides there on a steep head angle cross country hardtail. @serviceguy, to this day, I’ve never seen anyone hit the ground so many times and not need to go to the ER. Then, after that TOS ice ride, you drive to a group ride and(I forget) put in an extra 30 or so miles… Sorry to hear about Max. How long is he banned for?

Not exactly how I aspire to be remembered, but it is what it is and I'll take it as a win. I have a lot of natural padding, that's all there is to it...also helps with the cold.

I think Max is permanently banned, but I guess everything can change, it's up to our dear leader...just kidding @Norm !

I stopped reading his comments a while ago, but looking back at when he was banned it seemed like he really was trying to get the axe (or hammer), not sure if that was the case and if so why, but I guess there is a limit to the nonsense you can reasonably put out there and get away with it. It may not look like it but I make an effort to keep my own down, probably not making a great job of it.

Yeah he is. He crossed a line. If he were to reach out maybe he comes back but what o know of him, he’s far too stubborn to ever admit he’s wrong or take any blame for anything.

That's right, I forgot about the damage to bike stuff. I think it does damage to riders too! @Paul H hurt himself there more than once?

High Mountain can be TOTALLY hard on equipment. Both mechanical and human. Ask Paul about trying to dodge the blood spurting from my finger after escorting me back to the lot after having broken my derailleur earlier in a ride a few years back..lol. That being said, although trail conditions may have degraded over time, ( especially without @liong71er no longer being in country and available to look after them ), I've found my last few rides there to be pretty damn fun.

As far as Max goes, if he acted more like he does in person, when online, he'd have a lot less problems. When I broke my ankle at Creek a few years back, Max was one of the first guys who reached out, offering to help me out by picking up my bike from the park med center before they either closed, or someone stole it, while I was in the ER. At least in my experiences with him, the Max you get here, online, and the Max you get in person, come across as two, very different people. But that's still no excuse for coming on here and acting like an ass. The line between " outspoken " , " humorous", and " inexcusably offensive " is very narrow one these days, and i'd hate to be the guy in charge of policing that every day. It's a shame, but the internet does strange things to some people. And unfortunately it seems as if Max is one of them.

First day is 5/9

While you are on your way to NYC for work, I'll be on my way to Whistler for "work."

Hightower is ready except brakes are squeaking and feels contaminated. Maybe they will come back on a ride. Surprisingly... th reverb still works pretty well.

Cleats on the new 5-10's
Thought I might have forgotten how to ride with cleats but it came back pretty fast when going around in the parking lot.

Bike and gears are ready to ride.... just not sure if I am. Lol
