Got a late start trying to find a spot to park. Dirt roads were like diarrhea. The road next to the railroad was pretty good though.

Finally got back out there after a weird week with the snow and whatnot. Roads around here are pretty shitty, in spots, still so just meandered around on the MTB. Rode past @pygmypony ’s “groomed” trails. I’m jonesing for the fatbike I have on order right now but I’m sure it will come just after all this snow is melted and gone...

1:02 + dark + snow/rain = 3 points

It snowed. Then it rained. Then it snowed some more.

The residents in my town like to fear monger about this little guy. He's finally made it to my section of the hood.

Somebody's quarantine project? Top is sometime last year. Bottom was taken this morning.

1:58 plus dark plus snow/mix = 4
All Hail the Tractor
Was going to hit the road, but my normal tactic of "avoid if shiny" doesnt work when the roads are wet. So this makes avoiding icy spots due to snow melt almost impossible as you have to look for depth/height.

Anyways, was pleasantly surprised at what I found at core, for some reason the farmer drove a tractor all the entire field, so took that and then bombed a 30% grade sledding hill, twice. I wasnt even going to try the single track but at one of the entrances, the hikers really beat it down, so I took it and it turns out it didn't stop until the other side of the park. Started snowing between 6:20 and 6:30, so perfect to hit the 45 min minimum. Hit the downhill with the tractor tracks twice to finish it off.

ok, I have to fact check this claim since your strava picture doesn't show a start time. Sunrise at your spot is 7:02, so need to start by 6:02. Also, i took my radar screen shot at 6:51 and and based on that, the snow didn't get to you yet (I know radar is not an absolute, so asking). So at 1:02, did you hit both the dark and 45 min precipitation rules. Thank you in advance for clarifying.

This is the stuff that the normal posts do not show, so thank you for clarifying. Dark is no question.

You are damn close to the 45 min for snowing, it actually snowing is not in question since you have pictures but the timing in close, like within a couple min. The BIYF board has reviewed your clarification and have allowed the snow bonus. However, you have used your 1 "its close" card, so keep that in mind for future claims. ;)

However, curious what you are doing for 40 min of non-moving.

Sun and clouds = no bonus

Back outdoors and on the board for February finally! What a crazy week between the storm and work I have been too exhausted every day to even think about riding. Kudos to all you who been getting out there. The last time I did any bike riding was last Sunday so it was good to get out.

I was gonna stay on the lazy train today but once the sun peeked out I said F it and got dressed for a ride. Decided to just pedal around on the MTB more recon style just to see how bad some of the road clearance is on the side of the roads locally. As I expected its not great so I was glad to be on some plus tires and riding upright with less risk of slipping and sliding on some snow or slush. And the road bike is back from winter tune up and is still spotless clean so I didnt feel like dealing with washing all the salt off it.

Looks like more snow coming this weekend so maybe some more MTB road rides will be in order just to at least get outside here and there, cause I dont see the chance to ride any trails any time soon either.

Updated through this post. Great job on anyone who got outside this week. A little bit of a rough week for riding conditions , but no surprise that Piston, Jim, Goodvibe, Robin and I are out there gettin' it. Shout out to @pygmypony for making his local ridable. 2 points bonus for him....

Nice job to those of you still riding!! I'm pretty much out. There is no where close to ride and the roads by me don't even have shoulders at this point. I have a season pass to Blue so all I have been doing is skiing. And next week I'm headed to Colorado to ski. If I do happen to get on a bike, I'll post up.
