Got a report from one of my snowshoe friends that the canal path at DIP was packed down.
Most of it was good - with one section being a bit rough from footprints, but still rideable.
So a couple miles of fatty in the snow! Only passed a few people on the trail, and they were
impressed by my tires, while I was just hoping not to end up in the water.
Saw one of the Duke Farms Eagles (probably the male,
since the female is busy)
EDIT: Seems they
take turns:
Bald
Eagles: Incubation. Once incubation begins, the
male and female take turns
sitting on the
eggs, but the female
does most of the work. While one
sits on the nest, the other is hunting for food or perching nearby to protect the nest. ... Incubating
eagles will
sit on the nest almost continuously.
