Bob ride day, and with the wind and limited time, back to Manasota key for the 3rd time this week. And for the third time this week, uninvited drafters. What's the deal with these people? at least announce you are going to draft - today Bob and I were about 5 miles down into the wind when 2 guys latched on. At least one guy took the lead for about a half a mile, then they died and dropped off. Big surf today from the S wind

Nowadays if someone unwelcome is drafting i would think some fake repetitive coughing and spitting would be a good deterrent.

Not sure the mentality right now of drafting behind a stranger though, I would prefer to ride solo into a headwind instead of potentially being in the line of fire behind someone I don't know.

After 5-days of Zwift was finally able to get back outside. Started out with some proper hallmark channel Christmas movie snow. Changed to some flurries. Then ended with some movie snowflakes again. Just a ride around the neighborhood. Tried some of the local trails as well. Almost went down trying the side selfie in the snowy parking lot.

Zwift 2:06= .5

Even if the extra time doesn’t count just feel like I need to step up some fitness so watched Netflix for 2 hours and kept a steady pace with a little cadence variance here and there. Our usual Saturday shop ride is 40 miles so that was the goal today.

Even going moderate pace with the fan on I used 2 water bottles ate 2 bananas and changed my jersey after an hour I was drenched. That’s the longest time I have been on Zwift in a while.

No bonus

Seems to be my go to loop when not in the basement and when I leave the neighborhood. Down towards the canal. An attempt on the towpath. Back around towards home and some time in the neighborhood to make sure I get enough time. Head wind was tough at points. Howdy @jklett.

I was cleaning up the drivetrain when done and noticed a problem. Thankfully the chain got me home.

Got a report from one of my snowshoe friends that the canal path at DIP was packed down.
Most of it was good - with one section being a bit rough from footprints, but still rideable.
So a couple miles of fatty in the snow! Only passed a few people on the trail, and they were
impressed by my tires, while I was just hoping not to end up in the water.

Saw one of the Duke Farms Eagles (probably the male, since the female is busy)

EDIT: Seems they take turns:
Bald Eagles: Incubation. Once incubation begins, the male and female take turns sitting on the eggs, but the female does most of the work. While one sits on the nest, the other is hunting for food or perching nearby to protect the nest. ... Incubating eagles will sit on the nest almost continuously.

What a beautiful day to be outside and I finally got back into the woods! My ”skinny” 2.4s made it through Tingley Woods thanks to @pygmypony ’s endless snowshoeing, XC skiing, and fatbiking...and 1 psi. lol. I didn‘t pop the bead off the rim so I’d say it was a success! This was exactly what I needed after weeks of pedalling around on narrow, icy, snowy roads, mostly in the dark.

I even joined the man himself, @pygmypony, for half of a loop!
