It's no 5 park Mooch epic but it's not a 50 minute canal ride either:

4 points:
1 ride
1 road
1 CR
1 Mountain Park
16 on the week.
So yesterday I think so myself, you know, I think I may head up to Mooch and do some combos. Maybe throw in the Sussex Trail and link up KVSP. Maybe even a 5 park ride! So I'm letting this run away in my head, then Weber comes and posts the ride. And then jumps 6 points ahead of us, and then I think, well shit, this week is out of touch.
After sitting around this morning slamming my toes with a hammer, I finally decided to get out and just ride the road to CR. Figure I'll take the road point, plus a CR point and make it a 3 point day. My non-BIYF goal was to ride for 2 hours. I mean, who am I kidding about a 5 park ride? My longest ride this year is 1:43. I need to get to 2 before I think about 5.
So I took a different loop to CR and went in a different way. I like it better but it's really not much different. It avoids Washington Valley entirely and when it's not frozen this access may be a much pit. Jumped up into the yellow trails since Clark said the other stuff was crappy. I rode that little trail off Gilbride, the one for like 100 yards. I think I've seen it before but never rode it. It's neat. Anyway, yellow was almost perfectly good. It wasn't really icy and the only bad spot was the new High Tech Trail near Vosseler. The stuff exposed to the south/the sun is mushy. Otherwise it's great up there.
Then I snaked through to the other side. Briefly got on white then turned around. That was peanut butter in the making, and I didn't feel like making a mess where I didn't need to. Would out the ride exiting the park at Crim Road. As I was almost out of the park, I realized my right crank arm was trying to fall off. Yesterday the front brake caliper started coming undone. Today the right crank arm. Who knew the bike would actually need this much attention if you rode it so much?
Made it up to Mountain Park and explored some stuff I had found on the cross bike a few months ago. If you zoom in on the map you can see it. Ends up in some residential area where it seems like some kids have or had some old trails back there. At one point I was pretty much in someone's back yard. But I may be able to link this right off Crim Road someday - at least almost. But then I barely got the 45 minutes on the road going the long way around. So maybe not.
Wound out the ride on the road to nail down that last point. I passed 1 more park and was tempted to ride around it for 45 minutes but that's my destination tomorrow. It also strikes me that I can probably loop all the local parks together for something like a 7 park ride, including the road. Admittedly that will push the limits of sanity, so I probably will never do that. But it's possible.
