BIYF Winter 2015 Smack Down

Pat stay out of there lest u want to turn into IRON MAN.

Man, the shitty trails some of you guys will drive to just to get points...amazing. I went through some shitty parks today but I pedaled from my house, so thats more exploratory.
Nomahegan Park/Leneape park/Echo Lake Park/Local Dirt=Megamillions I acutally take pride in this loop since it involves very little road but a lot of parks.

Just riding around solo tonight. My goal was to mix some local woods for an hour but there was way too much heavy frost heave that was pushing multiple OTB situations so I bailed back to the road.

https://www.strava.com/activities/241200014 1 ride, 1 dark. 2 pts.

On a side note, I took some peoples advice. I ditched the heavy winter socks and added a toe warmer. It was almost 30 degrees but normally I would have had frozen feet at the end of the ride.

Let's avoid posting Garmin files for that one....

I can already tell keeping up this pace is not going to be easy for 3 months or 1 months.

Had to pick up sister at the airport so thought I might not be able to ride today. Saw something interesting at the airport.

After dinner, was able to sneak in a ride at a local park.

Ride = 1pt

Dark = 1pt

Should we keep entering stuff into the form? I keep forgetting. In fact, I can't remember the last one I put in.

i've been entering them if they are posted here, and don't show up in the spreadsheet.

just did yours.

Got a treat today! Rode with The Mayor.
I've been on the road with him before, but never in the woods. Basically had myself ready to work hard, and puke if i had to.

Never got the chance. While Norm was nice and smooth through the patchy ice covered trails, I had the pucker factor set to 10, and could not dial it back to let it flow. My vision was filled with trees, and rocks, and those falls where the bike just disappears from underneath.... Being a gentleman, Norm slowed enough for me to catch up....thanks bro!

we spent the time talking about you. yes you. I'll leave it at that.

hit a bunch of LM, and PP through mendham. Weather was perfect - could use a thaw with some wind to get rid of the patchy ice. other than that......

ride, 2 parks = tree.

Why are you taking 2 park points there? :hmmm:

As Pat & I discussed today, a lot of people don't get the rules entirely.

What Pat said. I also had a 3 point day:
https://www.strava.com/activities/241467622

1 ride + 1 LM + 1 PP = 3 points
+1 for consistency bonus (4th day today)

Up to 12 for the week.

It was nice to be out there with someone else today. The ice wasn't too-too bad but I think that's because I'm thinking of those "ice rivers" at CR that Clark commented on. I think of those rocks with the ice, and compared to that it was easy here. Still, I slid out climbing a few times, though neither of us crashed. Came close once or twice but there's enough crunchy stuff on the side to escape into.

Starting to feel what 10 days in a row on the MTB feels like. For sure my bike handling is better. If I keep this up I may lose 1 of my excuses to not race.

Have to say that this basic loop of LM is actually solid. I wish there were a way to loop PP so it wasn't an out & back but that's what it is. Maybe next time I'll park in Mendham and ride to/from.

Don't see a post here - but Welcome JDWalk to the competition!!!
posted up some prospect park loops - well done!

Also - when i said 'you' - it was plural/collective version....only really talked about a couple of common friends - like Carson, not to say we
talked about Carson, and there would be no reason to pick him out of the others......

Also, to help out a very busy friend, Michael.su hit nesh last night with Al. He had a great time, conditions were awesome, and it was dark.
that is all you need to know. 🙂 https://www.strava.com/activities/241207830

Any extra points if you continue to ride with a technical issue? Like a broken shifter cable? or complete a ride with a proven dependency on duct tape? ;-)
