Seems like I am on a pattern to ride outdoors once a week between the weather (I dont take chances when icy roads are a possibility) and work but I am past the COVID recovery phase and now onto the rebuild phase.
Since the temps weren't too bad and enough of the coating of snow melted I went back out on the roads with the gravel bike for a lunch ride. I figure its more work riding this bike on pavement with gravel tires anyway so at least it makes me feel like I am doing extra effort compared to my road bike. Did some harder efforts on some flat roads to get the HR going and of course my HR monitor decided to flake out - prob needs a new battery.
Specifically stopped at this spot for these pics today. And I always put the date of the ride in my Strava ride title so it also makes it easy to use a screen shot off the phone to post that here. If you also follow January outside pic thread dont get confused with seeing double posts.
Trails were so-so,and the biz dev call even worse. Cut it short. Never got groovin’, but at least I avoided the ruts. Sunglasses in the woods required today.
i was rushing to get out the door and back before a 2pm call so i didn't check the tire pressure...was running super soft in the rear, crossed a stream bed with some sharp rocks and tore a gash in my sidewall...needed two dyna plugs to close it up, but it worked, and is still holding!
