Biggest loser

This weekend I got side tracked with several projects that need immediate attention. In addition my wife finished her “Whole 30” which meant she made some delicious cooking Saturday and Sunday with some booze thrown in. She was pretty burned out from work, crappy weather and The Whole 30….frankly I was pretty burned out too so I enjoyed the fun as well. We lit a fire and tried to pretend like it was warm. It was nice to be outside relaxing. Plus I had a lot of pallets to burn.

Down 1 pound

My arm is pretty beat, between Pilates, bike and a lot of wrenching lately it feels like I have a light sprain. Working through it.

Six hours of bike this week, two hours light Pilates and wrenching.

Lots of wrenching needed to be ready for Moab in two months. Last year I just threw the Jeep in the trailer after it sat for four months as I navigated the crazy work environment. It was an awful idea As several gremlins killed the Jeep day one. This year I am getting ahead of anything that needs to be fixed with a target completion date of 3/8, that gives me a month so I can use it prior to departure. So far I found the following:

- Radiator had a heavy leak - working on a new radiator and new fan setup. The electric fan plug was pretty Corroded as well. It’s all custom so I can’t just buy one and bolt it in.
- Trans leak from pan gasket and shift linkage seal - pan gasket and filter are replaced
- Huge oil leak from manifold gasket
- Needs a tune up
- Battery died - fixed that
- Fixed the transfer case seal and put new fluid in
- Need to re-weld the transfer case shifters into better position
- Need to redesign radiator hoses
- Build new fan shroud for new radiator
- Service trans - complete
- New tires were rubbing - had to space them out as they were wider than older tires - Done
- Need to rework storage so my tools didn’t shift into the fuel cell - done
- Trans cooler lines are leaking at trans, caused by too much heat from exhaust. Need to wrap exhaust and replace trans cooler lines, will put new trans cooler in as well as it looks ancient

It’s crazy how your body some days just wants to try and derail your plans. I was very good with the diet yesterday, did a recovery ride, and split some firewood, but the weight went up a touch. As soon as I do a ride with more intensity the scale will point downward again.

I put myself in massive Calorie Deficit over the weekend and always weigh more on Monday than Friday.

My new weight today is 160.5 It took 2 weeks to move from 161.8 to where I solidly feel like the 160ish weight is real. I may have even jumped the gun on the 161.8 being real vs fluctuation. Either way I seem to have settled in to 1 lb every 2 weeks perhaps longer. At the same time I have eased up a little on certain things but kept certain core never do's in place. I even bought a bag of chips. Something obscure that a friend from Mass brings when we go fishing, they showed up in my store. I've had the bag 3 days. Sure I had a few, but 5 or 6 at a crack. Previously I'd just hammer the bag. I'm not avoiding, just don't feel like I have to...so thats good.

160 was my goal (from 175). Started Dec 5th. I'm close, I'm going to see where that goes while also up the strength training. More importantly I'm going to focus on sustainability and overall general better choices (for the most part) a bit more now. I'm also going to try to take on some other issue areas slowly too. I have a few bad habits that need some moderation but I knew better than to try to take on multiple fronts.

Points to those showing the home gym photos. When I clean up my mess I'll share mine.

Wednesday Weigh In. Week #6.

My Monday-Tuesday upswing is a day behind so I'm in the up today. I've been a bit stressed making sure my ducks are in line for AK so I'm sure the Scale will notice...Still on target with 2lbs a week.

I'm living in plateau land currently. Last 4 days were all the same weight. I know to stay the course and the scale will start moving again, but damn it's annoying. I'd rather see -0.1 each day than the plateau. Diet and workouts have been steady so I know it's my body revolting. I have a ride and climbing today so let's see how that effects things.

Really blasted through that plateau....-3.4 lbs since last Wednesday, -1.0 lb since Saturday. I was this weight exactly on Jan 9 2021...We're almost in 2020 weight territory!
Please delete and repost with appropriate graphs and charts. Thank you. 😑

My advice would be to weigh yourself once a week. Daily weigh-ins can be a mind f**k. Unless you've got a wrestling match coming up, it's pointless. Also, if you're under a lot of stress the body will steadily release cortisol, which prevents fat loss.

Ive tried it, and it doesn’t keep me as accountable. I’m a numbers geek and this keeps me honest and gives me data as I continue on this journey.

You have to count every calorie consumed, every day in order to get accurate (and useful) daily weight loss data. That's a lot of commitment.
