best 29er tyre for Ringwoog/Wayawanda

i was fine with ignitors, crossmarks, race kings, and mountain kings... sp as u see, any tire is fine depending on condition

geax saguaro- bullet proof sidewalls for rocks, proven performer
wtb wolverine - holding up well also,

The tread on the Saguro isn't going to be ideal for the more technical places. It is tough, but more on faster rolling side of the spectrum.

There really is no "best". Otherwise everyone would just run that 1 tire. I'm liking the Ignitor lately but I change my opinion quite often. Generally happy with the Python in the back though.

125 + miles this season in waywayanda alone on my 1 set of ignitor exos. No issues. Really love these tires.

I raced my rigid SS at Wawayanda with a prowler out back and a wierwolf up front. I Don't like the Prowler for much of anything. I liked the wierwolf, but I'd opt for something a little more agressive. I'd run the Wolverine front and rear if I were riding there a lot I think.

This may be a testament to how soft I ride, but I've never had a problem with any tires I ran. Frankly, I don't think they really make much of a difference. I still use the same 5 tires I've run for the past 2 years. I run nanoraptors 2.1 in the rear, and that's one of the un-burliest tires you can get. And by the responses I always see in all of these "what tires are good" thread, I'm convinced that most tires are good and most tires are bad. It will come down to personal preference.

One obvious way to get around the tread pattern thingy is super low pressure... I had the rear down to 18 psi +/- and I weigh 210 at Chimney rock and the only thing that was making them not stick at times was me struggling to keep a balance over the top tube😱... That said I was wondering yesterday on my way home how the sidewalls of the Ignitor Evo's matched up to the Saguro's...

If you read and believe Stan's no tubes, that is exactly the sales pitch for thier tires. The Crow and Raven do not have what we would call "aggressive" tread patterns. The Stan's sites rationalizes this by saying that when running low pressure, the tread pattern is less important due to the grip imparted by the low psi.

I am old school... I love my Panaracer Fire XC (and the new 29er IRD versions). Many of tires mentioned are similar or adaptations of the Fire XCs.

However, logically, I agree with Stans, Spencer and Soundz.

Cheers,
"slow" joe

+1 for the ignitors. I run a 2.35 up front, and a 2.1 in the rear (tubeless of course) and have had no problems in the rocks.
