International Whisk(e)y Day
On this date let every whisk(e)y lover annually raise a dram - whereever in the world he or she may be - to honour the many unsung heroes of the past and present, who have been crafting the King o'Drinks for centuries and will hopefully continue to do so till the end of time.www.internationalwhiskyday.org

Being bourbon-centric lately, it’s nice to remind myself of my roots.
And plus, leaving a bottle collecting dust seems silly these days.

Ugh! My first experience vomiting all over myself was with gin. I think I was 14. To this day the smell of it makes me feel like I’m at death‘s door. Not quite whiskey but I figure this is where it fits best.

They are very likely spoiled. So about 12 or 13 years ago I got a gift set with 4 Johnnie Walker bottles. I never opened them, and I never really paid much mind to storing them properly. They've been in the box (not exposed to sunlight) ever since. However, they spent the first few years in my upstairs bedroom, often exposed to some high temps in the summer. I think about cracking one open ever now and then, but always wondered if the poor temps made it go bad. Apparently it should be mostly fine, based on the article below. Maybe I'll finally dig in one of these days.
