Yes, but any idea of what he likes?
In that price range, I’d be looking at a pretty bottle (Blantons), or a higher abv barrel proof expression.

No idea, I stay at his house occasionally in Vermont. last time I got him basel hyden? he seemed to like it, I thought it was disgusting. but I like coors light and cabernet.

You can get lots of good bourbons in that price range.
I am not sure if any of the stores in your area carry this but if you can get your hands on one of these it is really good.

2oz Bourbon or rye, depending on preference
1oz sweet vermouth
2 dashes of bitters
212 manhattan’s area code

I’d go Buffalo Trace and Angostura

I like old overholt for manhattans. Usually around $20 a bottle.
I’m also a fan of “black” manhattans with averna substitutes for vermouth. Or even Fernet.

Other options that occurred to me are:
Noah’s Mill, Woodford Reserve Double Oak (easy to enjoy) and I haven’t tried it, but Makers Select seems to be making a good impression.
