Any one doing Fair Hill?

This race was super fun, but a total shock to my system. I plan to have a much better showing next race.

Results peeps...

here

It's pretty sick how they give you speed and placing each lap. That chip thing is cool. ----->www.BIGWHITETRAILER.com<-----hire these guys Campmor!!

-Jim.

Nice! Electronic timing rocks! Pretty happy with my results too! 14 mph first lap! W00t!

Sorry...I'll never let it happen again.

Jeff Schalk...16.8 mph. Man, some of these guys are crazy crazy fast.

Yeah and?

Mike beat Maurice by 2 minutes in Elite, on a singlespeed!! 1:25? 16mph? That's how you do it son:getsome:

I wish I was fast enough to pull some poop like that off!! That dude is fast.

-Jim.

Again, the electronice scoring kicks ass! I can look at these results all day.

You know it's a strong field when Harlan Price comes in 5th and Eatough doesn't even win. We were standing there when that elite open lead pack came through and the sensor said "26:44" for the first lap time. Nuts.

Most of the races that I do are chipped timed, even the local 5k's. It makes a huge difference the posting of the results. I am always willing to pay a little extra to have chip timing.

Norm I was standing at the top of the start hill when they came by, needless to say they had there race faces on it was game on.

RC ... 🙁

So wait- you're saying it's possible for a guy on a SS to be fast?!?🙄

I wonder what kind of gear Mike was pushing to do that kind of speed?

It's possible for Mike to be fast on a SS!! But he'd be fast no matter what😀

They really should workout how they send the SS guys off. I mean, I went through what 20 something single-speeders and still only barely finished in the top ten of my class, and we were the third field to go off, the poor 19-34 guys all had to go through them as well. In Sport the SS guys are prolly faster than
the gearies, it's just not the case in Expert (with a few exceptions of course). A few times I actually had to lock up my brakes when I came up on the SS guys and they refused to let us go by.🙄

This is an interesting point. As a guy who has generally finished between 5th and 10th in Expert SS (when I've actually made it to the races) since making the switch from gears, I've been caught by lots of the geared guys, usually on the second lap, in some extended downhill/high speed section where my lack of a big ring ends up making me a sitting duck. I try to get the hell out of the way ASAP, though.😉

Starting order at MASS race

Jim, I agree the SS should go off after the vet II and before the master I..It would make for less traffic for you....However, no matter what class is ahead of you some riders will have an off day and be slower..Understand, that a rider that does not give trac to a faster rider is going to do it no matter what....Some people understand the unwritten law and others could care less...If you are faster then me I awlays move over. I try to use that rider for motivation.....

There's no good solution. In H2H they send SS first and my class has to pass the 30-34, the 19-29, then the SS guys. The fast 40-44 class has to pass all that plus my class. The front of any class isn't passed by anyone so whatever class goes first, those riders post times that look great compared to anyone because they don't spend 2/3 of the race trying to get around Bob Weekender who absolutely refuses to let you by. It's the masses that come after which anyone in a subsequent class needs to pass.

The alternate is 1 mass start event. But whatever, really. Anyone you line up and race against deals with the same thing.

I raced in SS Sport and I must have passed at least 25 of the geared sport guys.

I made very good use of my Bell!

I got some interesting looks as I rang my bell.
