Alumuchy Thursday Rides

I'm interested in joining, but what is the pace going to be? I'm a sport rider who hasn't been riding much and I'm pretty out of shape. I don't want to hold anyone back.

Thank you for taking other riders into consideration (especially with the bug swarms out of control). Based on the attendance over the last three weeks, these rides have been fairly advanced. Most of the riders have had racing experience, if not actively racing. The actual pace is however above average with stops only as necessary. Sections of the park such as allamuchy north, even ridden on with lowest gear without stopping can be pretty cardio intensive.
We have yet to hit deer park on this ride series. That park has more gradual climbs and is less rocky. Since there seems to be demand for a bit easier ride, maybe we can hit that next week.
With all that said, you are welcome to join us! Btw, marty's has a begginner/ intermediate ride at Lewis Morris on Thursday afternoons which may be a good ride for getting back on the saddle. More info on that ride is available on the calendar on the front page of jorba.org .
So yes let's get moving at 6pm. This time I have already packed all my stuff in the car including my shoes!!

Should be able to meet up this week for my first group ride with everyone. Look forward to meeting everyone tomorrow.

Hi.
I'd like to join the Thursday ride this week and am interested in Deer Park or Tranquility.
Thanks,
jack

Deer park will be much faster overall with the exception of a few trails. I'm down for a deer park ride, considering it will be hot and that we've been hitting the north side the last four weeks.
Let's plan to meet at 6pm at the first deer park road parking lot.
Who's coming? And yeh, where is Lou?

From Beat My Time Thread

DP - game on (BEAT MY TIME)
OK I came up with this on my ride today. Beat my time and earn 2sixpacks of choice or $25. Train ride and earn beer!

Rules:
1. need to own GPS and follow my tracks and prove you win with your data.
2. If you win you accept to pay if you get beat or face public humiliation. In to win pay when you loose.
3. overall time is determined as winning time.
4. you must follow tracks accurately or you are disqualified.
5. loser must pay within 1 week
6. Must be member of MTBNJ

Sound like fun...
My ride was on a SS at Deer Park if you beat my time on a geared cool you win but I still hold SS time record until someone beats it and you own geared record. What that means is I'll buy for your geared to get it going. But retain the SS record until it's beat. If you don't have a GPS I can make arrangements to lend you mine. This is a perfect way to get to Know DP as I covered every trail in the Park. Thinking is to put a end date for overall winning times and get Mayor McCheese to throw some MTBNJ swag for overall winner...

The Time To Beat 1hr 49mins 22sec.

How did you do that with 0 rpm average cadence???? 😉
One of these days I'll take a shot at it now that jorba had cleared out all trees.
