Allaire Conditions

We would have been there too but the Snot Rocket is broken. Its on its way to Califonia via FedEx tomorrow morning.

Sorry to hear.. I'm sure Sherwood will have her back in no time.

Fun times !!! Fewer ruts would have been nice,.... Could have been worse.

I could understand turning a blind eye on some trails but did they have to ride Tiger yesterday? It had some silly ruts and should have been avoided..especially the new reroutes..

Lots of frozen ruts to deal with today, at least they were not that deep. Thank you to the folks that stayed away yesterday when conditions were less than ideal.

your welcome 😉

Bummer guys! How long before it comes home?
Its just leaving in the AM . We had a weld fail at Hartshorne on Friday about halfway between Buttermilk and Rocky Point. It was a long walk out considering we parked at Huber. Hoping to get it back in a month. I have a lot of confidence in Sherwood and know he takes this kind of thing seriously.

god bless you guys riding the tandem @ hartshorne - amazing stuff

btw - what do you do in the meantime - do you guys have standard mtbs that you ride?

I told you 2 to quit hitting those jumps 😉 glad you're ok and I hope it comes back soon.

Thanks all! We didn't mean to hijack the thread, just wanted to say we won't be on the trails for a little while but will be back. We will be getting some much needed road mileage in the meantime.🙂 I have a single MTB but Pat does not and doesn't want one soooo...............

Are dirt bikes allowed in Allaire

Motorized I mean, of course.

Went to Allaire today. Some trails looked torn up in spots by a dirt bike.

Hubby and I have learned which trails to avoid even a few days after rain or a thaw at Allaire, or if we get to soft spots we walk over them. But a few places we came to today were really torn up, especially on soft turns, it was just a mess. Almost every trail we rode on today had deep tire marks that just couldnt have been from a mountain bike, even in the dry sandy spots. The tire marks were also pretty wide. So hubby figured dirt bike. We were kinda bummed as some nice berms were...well...not so nice.

Frank, please let me know when you are going out there for trail maintenance, we will definitely help out!

Feel free to email me Frank, about the TM, just in case I miss it here.

Trust me the first TM session is kind of hard to miss we all start posting about it at least 2 or so weeks before hand.. 🙂 just like the beginner rides

going be there this morning shooting for sunrise or thereabouts about my new (to me) haro rigid (black) that i scored for 10 off cl recently -give a shout - hopefully it wont be too muddy but park is new to me - figured six would soggy

some pics from the ride - first time there - loved the park - reminds me of six mile alot - great flowing trails - got lost of course - and kept running into macdad which was great - great convos macdad

putting this place in the rotation for sure

cant believe how crowded the lot got - i touched down @ 7 and when i came out at 10 the lot was pretty well full

btw this was first ride of the haro - a recent pickup for $10 - didnt think i was gonna like the bars that were set up on this bike but i really do and i'm gonna leave em - there is actual a suspension of sorts in the headset

My buddy had the bike back in the day on the blvd of linden... It would be a screamer with some Porc 2's on it but whatever... You can't beat 10 bucks with a stick

A 94 Kona Explosif would make for a nice addition to the collection

i would love to get my hands on a klein - but i'm a cheapskate w buying vintage - and i havent come across folks that give up their kleins on the cheap

not to hate on todays bikes - but the understated aesthetics in the old school mtbs are more attractive to me

definetly is some new stuff out there that carries on those traditions - in fact macdad was on a salsa hardtail that fit that mold
