A Wookies return.....

Keeping up what @Steve Vai started.

I knew him for a shorter time than most. Rode with him a few times and loved when we would run into each other on the trails and chill and BS. He was already in his fight when we met. He endured it with the genuineness and vulnerability that only the truly brave possess.

I too met Frank after his battle had already begun but I truly admired his strength and fight. Every time that I saw him out on his bike, enjoying life, it warmed my heart. He always treated me like an old friend and greeted me with a big smile and a hug. He put up the greatest fight anyone with such an illness could ever give and it was truly inspirational. I'm sad that we lost him and my heart aches for Cindy and all of his close friends and family. But I'm honored to have known him even if just a fraction as well as many of you. ❤️

Had to give him a chance to get airborne. (IYKYK)

I never met Frank having started riding not too long ago, but followed his blog here and tbh really didn't know of his tireless contributions to the NJ MTB ecosystem we have today. Though through this out pouring of love and remembrance, it's obvious why he is revered by the community. Condolences to his wife and family who have "tolerated" his time in the woods and building up JORBA, as it sometimes seems like a thankless effort.

I don't get down to Allaire much, but will be taking a few days off this month to unwind and will find a day hit the park. And with each pedal I'll be thankful for the Wookie of Allaire. Rest in peace Frank.

I only met Frank once or twice somewhere around 15 years ago, but he made quite the impression. Through meeting him, and reading his posts back in the day, it was easy to see that he was one of a kind.

I’ve only recently come back to mtbnj and I was completely unaware of what was going on until now. I started reading this blog from the beginning and one post kept echoing in my mind.

It doesn’t feel right to repost what he said in my post, so here is the link (post #382)

I tear up every time I read it.

The world has lost a special person. My heart goes out to his family and to all those who knew him well.

Reminder:

A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Frank’s life will be held on Monday, June 16th, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Point Lobster Bar & Grill, 521 Arnold Ave, Point Pleasant Beach. Dress is casual and/or Wookiee inspired, Frank would have it no other way. Refreshments and light fare.

Hope to see you all. Nothing formal or scripted, just a gathering to remember Frank and talk some story.
