6 Mile Run Conditions

its going to be above freezing tonight - and it is warm and moist now.
I'm guessing it will be a no-go sloppy mess.

Yeah I know, booooo. Thought maybe it would dry out a bit. Damn work getting in the way of me riding during the week!

if you need motivation i'll be heading out next week early early early. shoot me a PM. we can do an hour or so as long as its below freezing.

I was there on Thursday morning when it was frozen. There is a lot of moisture trapped in the surface soil. Sure you will be able to find some OK singletrack if you ride tomorrow, but you will also find plenty of soft mud bogs that you will completely rut up. Please stay away until frozen again.

It's a mess alright. I chose to settle for some miles on the canal, but it brought me this sighting.

I was out today in a short break between rain showers. The beaver pond has gotten bigger and the water level is only about 2 feet from the trail.

Saw two young kids come pedaling it of the woods, absolutely soaked and muddy as hell. Their two tracks were easy to spot for about 3 miles that I walked into the woods.

I am sure they were having a blast but they were oblivious that they were gutting the trails.

Would anybody consider a predicted high of 30 degrees a guarantee for the trails to stay frozen tomorrow throughout the day?

the sun is going to soften up the fields, the woods may be ok with the low of 22 tonight.

Wet and muddy with thin frozen layer predicted on wed.

We need 2-3 days of solid, below freezing temps.

^^^ word. Exactly this. I stopped into Jacques this morning and you could see ice at the surface, but easily push through to the gooey stuff beneath. No bueno.
