6 Mile Run Conditions

Just got back from a ride on the Canal side. Conditions were very nice...Blue, Red & White were in nice shape. There were some ruts, mostly in the field sections. I only saw 3 other riders when I got back to the lot...it was pretty empty out there. One with no helmet... 🙁

I haven't been on the Canal side since Sandy so I was quite surprised and pleased with the trail re-routes on Blue. The one tree over on Blue after that fenced in area...I really like that. Now I have to get better to clear it both ways. Going towards 27, not an issue. Coming back to the Canal lot, down I went.

And I finally conquered that bridge after the long boardwalk. The pallet in front of it made me more confident attempting it. Now I just have to get over my fear of the high bridge over the creek on Red near Middlebush.

Well...enough of my yacking...get out there and ride... 🙂

Is that the large tree down diagonally across the trail close to the canal lot? I couldn't figure out how to get over it so hopped off and carried. Got home from work late tonight so couldn't make it - gonna park in Jaque lot tomorrow and hit the red/yellow trails to 27 and back .

Yes...that diagonal tree down is close to the canal lot...less than 2 miles in. I also had to carry over both ways. 🙁 That section of Blue it is on wasn't there before Sandy.

I will cut that out or notch that tree in the next week or so.

Jdog- all the new trail features are awesome keep it up. Love the cut out of fallen tree on blue.

Thanks man. Hard to keep everyone happy. The log overs may get cut out by the park over time but for now it ads some flavor.

I hope those log overs stay...I enjoy the challenge of them. Nice job as always Jdog!!!

Jdog...are there any scheduled days for trail maintenance? I use the park a bunch and live very close so I just figured I should do my part.

I will be doing some weekday am days shortly. I have Sunday the 21 penciled in but since I have a new baby at home, everything in my life is in pencil.

Mayday, mayday, mayday!! ABORT!! ABORT!! ABORT!!

Was out there this morning, conditions are un-good.

Serious unfortunately. My wheels didn't hit a dry spot of trail during any of my loop today...

I was there at noon. The conditions are not good. Some sections are completely dry but some are really wet and soft. I did not see deep mud holes and the trails are rideable however i won't come back for a week or so

This is mind boggling. Did it rain overnight or something?

it got below freezing last night. if its mucky, its probably because of a freeze thaw. so it could be peanut butter on top of stuff that collected whatever moisture that was in the air again.
