6 Mile Run Conditions

I hope folks got out today before the rain as conditions were pretty good. Drier than when I rode Tues. White was about as perfect as it could be - fast and tacky. Strava worked this time and I was rather surprised to get 8th for the full loop. Let's hope the weather-guessers stay true to recent predictions and over-estimated the rain again. It was just starting when I was on the final stretch of Red towards Canal Rd.

I saw a bunch of cars in the parking lot last night, but that could just mean that a lot of people are out ruining the trails.

I'm loaded to ride after work today. It was pretty sunny and breezy yesterday and the wind is strong right now as I type this, so it seems the majority of the trails will likely be dry. The $64K question is the "scatter T-storms" being predicted. If nothing else, I'll test out my Canal Path loop theory...

Radar does not look promising. Line of storms heading right towards us and with my luck I'd be at the 27 lot when it hit. So I think I'll save my rain-riding for July when it counts. Bummer, but it doesn't look like we'll get enough rain to make an impact on trail conditions. Similar forecast for tomorrow, but who knows...

I stopped by the Canal lot on my way home and saw some guys getting ready to go out... I tried to talk him out of it, but was unsuccessful. I saw on FB jdog was doing trail work and posted video/pics of JJ covered in mud.

We were out clearing mud holes today for sure. The water was level with the cement bridge and gutting the northern side of the crossing.

There are many deep holes and frankly more people than ever are riding when wet.

I am ten years in doing TM here and it is drier faster every year based on the work done in years past.

It still is a bone-head move to go out and ride the day after a heavy rain, but people do dumb shit in all aspects of their lives.

I will say that everyone I saw today had a helmet on and no one ran over my 3 year old which is nice... Mostly since they are all astonished to see a kid playing int he mud vs. parked in front of an electronic device.

Well thats good that no one ran over your little guy!

On a scale of 1-10 with one being don't ride at all, where would you say it'll be tomorrow by noon? Rideable?
