Keystone today.... Keystone is more my speed compared to vail.. More laid back, totally empty... I made 18 runs of trees and moguls and holy hell am I broken now lol.... We stayed in the north bowl all morning, trees were excellent... After lunch Alex left and I decided to do the long hike to the top, unfortunately I didn't know it closes at 1... So I didn't get to the top top, but snow wasn't great anyway. Great day, I like this place.... Give me this over vail all day

Keystone is awesome. Sounds like you will like A-Basin as well

So we're kinda doing the epic pass tour but I'd love to check out a basin
I understand. I was pretty much doing the iKon tour myself. But a friend got me the Epic discount while at Keystone. Next season I will be purchasing both passes for sure. 👍⛷️

So yesterday we did Breck again... Met up with a local who is an easy coast transplant friend of mine.... If you are ever in Breck and want a massage, I'll give you her number... Anyway Cara let us park at her house and we walked to the gondola.... Then she gave us a tour... Conditions aren't great right now so we stayed after from the rocks.... Did some runs off the t bar which is always entertaining... Caras an awesome skier... Afterwards she took us to RMU where she knows everyone and we had some beers... Then Alex bought some new rmu skis... Awesome day received_691274915223553.jpegreceived_492590755763961.jpegreceived_323005543133162.jpeg20220302_133822.jpg

Let me know when/where. We're looking at Sugarbush (2nd weekend) then Killington (3rd weekend). Kicked around the idea of Stratton 1st weekend of March but that looks like a Windham 1-day-Sunday due to high school basketball playoffs. IIRC you are an Ikon Pass holder, right?
If you get to sugarbush with your family this weekend, DO IT. It has to be the best conditions of the year up there. Ikon is unlimited, make it happen.

Sugarbush next weekend. Hopefully it holds on another week.

Heading up to Sugarbush tomorrow for the first time in a long time. Killington was in great shape today as well.

Switch it up, it will be worth it! Who knows what next week brings. I get it, if you can’t, you can’t. But boy oh boy, if you can, make it happen.

30” this week from 4 different storms. It’s probably the best conditions in the country and yet, there will still be ice somewhere!

Hit up beaver creek yesterday for another full day.... Conditions were not great, but we made the most of it, the weather was again beautiful... This time we skied/rode with marks daughter and Alex's old coworker... Both good snowboarders... Terrain at bc is interesting, steeper than vail and Breck imo... Some of the blues at keystone and bc would definitely be double black on the east coast. After skiing we stopped at the Ritz Carlton on the mountain and someone bought a $23 hot dog and a $13 can of cider. Then we hit up highside brewery in Frisco... I love how dog friendly every place is around here

Today we wrapped up the trip with a half day at Breck.... Stole my friend Caras awesome parking spot again by the gondola...made few runs off 6 and the t bar then took the 4 o'clock trail back to town... Said goodbye to Cara, got some pho and headed to Denver.... Along the way we stopped and checked out the red Rock amphitheater... Very cool, would love to see a show there... Getting dinner tonight and heading out tomorrow

Fabulous trip... 6 days in a row, got to really explore breck and get a local tour of the mountain and town.... Got to see vail, keystone and beaver creek for the first time...

For the first time I brought my Garmin and recorded our days... Alex and I skied together every day with the exception of Thursday afternoon when she had to work... By the numbers
5.5 days, 18 hrs 38 moving time
77 runs
Just over 100,000 feet of vertical

Didn't do any real hiking as the condition were pretty meh and I missed the time cut off at keystone.

Great trip and goddam do I miss living in the west

I really like Beaver Creek. I know the prices at that Ritz Carlton are ludicrous, but that may be the coolest spot for having a few after skiing.

Was the cowboy playing guitar by that big fireplace. Always so much fun.

I used to go here a lot when I had the Epic. I may need to switch back to that next year. I miss Vail, Stowe and Beaver Creek.
