2025 Monkey Knife Fight

Things are looking slightly more promising, it seems like the brunt of the rain should be gone by early morning. If it blows through a little earlier than forecasted we might wind up staying dry.

It does look marginally better - I can handle some light rain/misty/damp weather for the planned distance and elev, but not pouring rain for 5+ hours.

My basic plan is to show up ready to ride in the wet. If it just really sucks I will have the Garmin navigate me back to the start and wait for the food and beer to be open.

ive not done the event before, but it seems with the new start location at the Velodrome, we have access to the showers and locker room. also saw they will have a bike wash station. Just not having to change in my car after a wet ride will feel like a luxury.

Pro tip - bring a plastic kitchen size garbage bag to dump all the wet/dirty stuff into after the ride for the drive home. Just don't forget to empty it when youre done.

Really on the fence, what distance are you all doing? Riding as a group? Start time?
looks like from this group its down to me, @rlb and @Cole at the moment doing the 50 with 8:30 wheels down time.

I have one other person I know who may look to ride with us as well thats not on this forum. Misery loves company and all...

Ok, the 50 sounds more appealing than the 70 given the conditions.

After tonight's Zwift ride I'm still coughing up phlegm. For that and the projected weather forecast. I'm not going to MKF.
I can transfer my spot to anyone willing to ride the 50 miler.

Has anyone expressed interest in this yet? If not, I am, maybe my buddy can give his to Gorilla to someone a little more ambitious than I'm feeling...

Lol, I just said this to my last night my wife, I need to remember a bag.... Especially since I won't be in my car lol.

There’s lot to remember lol I’m gonna start packing up tonight. It’s probably not a good idea to leave any electronics attached to the bike on the ride to/from.
