2025 Monkey Knife Fight

Somewhere out west on 78. Should be a great day.
Be safe friends

Had a great time! Weather wasn’t as bad as predicted. We got misted on the first 10-12 miles and drizzled on the last 10-12. The wind held off until the last stretch too. Managed to stay warm and dry all day. Goat hill broke me, but otherwise it was all doable albeit challenging.

Also it was nice to meet @Hair Face and ride with @iman29 again.

Really glad I went through with the ride today. Great group, great route, generously stocked aid stations and very friendly volunteers.

The weather wasn't as bad as it looks in the photos, we honestly got really lucky considering the forecast. The coldest parts of the ride were the descents after sitting around the aid stations snacking.

If the weather and my schedule align, next year I'll be back for the 70!

Like the others said the hardest part of the weather today was mentally dealing with cleaning SNOW off my car on the way to a bike ride !

But yeah I wouldn’t say it was great weather but being properly prepared and catching a break that we didn’t really get rained on much certainly helped.

I was also impressed by the event itself very well done from the check in to the road markings and the awesome volunteers sitting out in the shit weather probably colder than us. All the aid stations were very well stocked and plentiful and even had some of the locals cheering us on from the driveways.

For whatever reason my legs didn’t really wake up today so I was the caboose most of the day. But thanks to the group being patient we all finished together. Aside from goat hill which I had to walk a bit I was able to make it up all the climbs.

Nice to meet @Hair Face and @mpope68 in person and ride with @rlb and @Cole again.
@Hair Face gets the award for the hammer the hills man can he fly!

I was there at the end this guy won the final raffle prize and had to wear the monkey head LOL

I’ll try to make it next year. Could be persuaded for the 70. But not in this weather.
