Yep, that’s the new way I’m doing it! Thanks

You used to be able to copy/paste the link and it would show what the picture is…all good now.

Still not seeing the share option. I am wondering if it’s because the ride was set to private. I changed the privacy setting to everyone and we will see if it works for tomorrows ride?

I guess I’m in 😎. Picked up two bikes that were serviced by Hilltop this afternoon. Did a ride with each.
Ride one on the Salsa Fat bike

Ride 2 on The Diverge.

And this is Uncle Jerry. He passed Christmas 2022. Helps keep me motivated to get out every day.

July 1 - that unfortunately may be my only entry. Just barely clocked in at a few seconds over an hour.

I had planned on doing a road ride, but a FB post lured me to a group ride at Neshaminy, with the promise of doing the "normal" lap in reverse - something I had never done before. Mainly because a number of the descents become super challenging as climbs. But now I have an ebike! So while the rest of the group was on normal bikes, I hung in the back and cruised, only really putting out efforts for the technical climbs. Good ride and a lot of fun.

However, we finished and I still needed at least 15 min of riding time to get an hour in. And a few more of the group still wanted to ride, so we went back in, this time for a normal lap. Everything was going fine until I sent one of the high speed drops, blitzed over a bridge and launched the rise over the gravel utility road. And landing on a large rock that sent the bike out from under me, causing me to land hard on my right side. I also smacked my helmet onto the ground pretty good, but no headache and no real damage to the helmet.

And I somehow shattered the screen on my Wahoo Bolt, but it continued recording the ride.

I assessed the situation, the rider behind me tried to do triage, but I was more or less ok. But really bruised and battered. A slow pedal back to the van and to get the bike inside before I started to stiffen up. Got home, unloaded everything quickly as I could and started dinner.

Right now as I type this, I have a pretty good suspicion I have some bruised ribs. Deep breaths and coughs are not pleasant. Thanks to kidney stones (and a lifetime of crashing my bikes), my tolerance for pain is somewhat skewed and it's not easy for me to gauge how badly I'm hurt, but I don't think there's any serious damage. That said, I am not confident I'll be able to ride much in the coming weeks. Unfortunately, this also really puts a damper on my Sheduro preparation.

Bike before the ride - I'm not sure how the Wahoo took the brunt of the impact, but otherwise I don't see any bad scraps on the bike here at home.

Everyone looking happy during the backwards loop:

Regarding the bike setup, at least when I sent the drop at speed, I used nearly all of the fork travel, so I suppose the setup isn't far off.

I must be doing something wrong because I cannot seem to do what you did with the photo and have the Strava info overlay.

Any hints?
Just go to your activity and then share it. It will ask you for map or photo, then I share to my own text, then do a screenshot. I'm sure that's not the most efficient way of doing it, but I'm a Boomer, so what the hell do I know. 😃

Some of my older rides do have the share option when I had my privacy setting as everyone. So most likely I will be able to share tomorrow.

well… let’s see how 2024’s rendition of the 31/31 goes. Haven’t ridden much because we were in the middle of a major transition in our move up to Connecticut… so, The Mountainside Menace is no more and now the Middlebury Menace abides. We wanted to get back up to family for some support with our two girls and to better support her side of the family. The move was finalized last week and there’s a lot of exploring to do. I’ve ridden most of the trails up here, but surprisingly haven’t ridden Rockhouse Hill Sancturary. I was blown away by the quality of the trails. This place ticks a lot of boxes and is super close. Great overlook and some super technical rocks. I was off from work today so I ended the day with a bit of kayaking at Quassy. Girls ended up falling asleep 🤣. https://strava.app.link/j3qtS9PmTKb
