Apparently Cascade opened today so there's that. Was at Killington yesterday for maybe an hour. Pretty thick crowd for not so spectacular conditions. I'll give it another chance tomorrow. Hopefully they blow some more snow.

1-day lift ticket prices jump to $229 at Vail, Deer Valley
If you intend to ski at Deer Valley on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, a single-day lift ticket will cost you $229.www.vaildaily.com
Well, someone's gotta be the most expensive and for DV, exclusivity was always their thing. Of course the majority of s DV skiers will use their Ikon pass anyway. Still less than half the price of greens fees at the nicest golf clubs.WOW!

I lived across the street from the 12th hole of a public golf course in Queens until I was 15. From 3rd thru 9th grade we'd hop the fence and play 9 holes after school. I moved out to LI and my parents joined a country club where golf was extra to play. I've never played again. Two of my friends went on to get scholarships for golf.Sure, but golfing sucks.
I'm saving golf and fishing for when I'm too banged up to do the things I really enjoy.
I believe that is called Florida.Perhaps you could combine these 2sportsactivities somehow and make a grand retirement community based on it.
Sorry, I know, thread drift...
Agree with all that but still sticker shock.Well, someone's gotta be the most expensive and for DV, exclusivity was always their thing. Of course the majority of s DV skiers will use their Ikon pass anyway.
Had my reservation for day one of the season tomorrow. No way I'm waking up at 5 and driving to find out they're closed again tomorrow. My guess is not a water main break since they would have published that.Hunter didn't open today and posted no reason why.
Current rumors:
Covid outbreak
Ski patrol on strike due to low pay
Water main break...

ya DV is certainly doing what it can to keep you from showing up day of and buying a ticket. Whats funny is that I got 3 free passes last year from an old utah friend of mine...even free, there was still like $60 in fees lol. But if nice is what you are looking for, there is no place nicer that I have ever been to than DV.....Its certainly an experience, my family LOVED it... Personally, tho, I prefer the opposite of nice....shit hole with good terrain, terrible lodge, no grooming, no hotel, etc. But thats me.Wow is right! That's alot of coin

Deer Valley is awesome, and it’s got some great terrain. With minimal work, skating, or the smallest walk/hike, yiu can get fresh snow, days after a storm. I really don’t know of anywhere else that has stashes so easily accessible that last. Most other mountains are tracked out within a an hour or at least before lunch. I use to use the free lift ticket you would get with your boarding pass, and ikon the last few years. Its definitely expensive. The on mountain food is about the same as most other resorts, but man, that’s unbelievable also. You pay for it, but they get it right over there.ya DV is certainly doing what it can to keep you from showing up day of and buying a ticket. The terrain is VASTLY better than it was in the 90s when I lived in PC...Its like a different mountain now. I had two friends in HS whose moms both worked at the mountain...we could ski there and eat there for free and we still never wanted to go bc it was boring lol....but I dont feel that way anymore...They really added some nice stuff....and I agree, its easy to get into the fun stuff without too much hiking. Its not the intense kind of terrain at snowbird persay, but still really good. And skiing in the aspens with my 6 year old was an absolute blast.Deer Valley is awesome, and it’s got some great terrain.
