These “trail markers” really don’t help much since they don’t denote turns or trail beginnings or endings. If you look at a properly blazed trail 2 blazes alert you to an upcoming turn, single blaze are simple markers and 3 denote trail end. 2 different colors mean trails overlap.

this was my worst fear, the lack off trail etiquette has always been a concern. Access was touch and go at Wiss in the 90s because of similar concerns. The small minority screws things up for others whether it be riding trails when conditions are poor or lack of respect for other trail users...
