    The 2011 MTBNJ Fundraiser

Done - this is a good time to say THANKS to all on this website who have ridden with me and encouraged me. Without you guys, I 'd probably only know one stinkin trail and I'd still be riding it on my platform pedals. I am pretty quiet on here and don't get to the rides as much as I would like...

    Saugerties NY

Just passed though Saugerties yesterday! After the red onion, I highly recommend stopping by Lucky Chocolates. As far as riding...hmm..didn't do that but there is a club called Fats in the Cats that might have info on their website.

    Things to do

Oh, so sorry to hear about your hand. Do you have an indoor trainer? That might be a good investment for the long term, keeping fit during the winter too. I love running, I can't say for sure if it will make you faster on the bike, but it's surely a good thing to have in your bag of tricks...

    Camping with kids ?

Slack line! That looks cool. I will be checking that idea out further. As far as camping, to the OP, try it! You might be surprised how time just kind of takes care of itself. The whole family will have to work as a team just to gather sticks and have a meal...kids really get into it...

    Found seat bag on trail

Hey, found a nice under-the-saddle bag on Wm Hoferlin this morning. Didn't look like it had been there very long. Anyone lose one? Heidi

What type of friends do you have?

I am going to be 48 this year -- I have been accumulating athletic friends for a few decades now. So most of my friends are into some kind of sports, if not the same ones as me. I still enjoy boozing it up, though, from time to time. Nicky, it does get to be a little much if a person is just...

Girls Ride 9/6 Labor Day at the Jungle

    drinking bath water

After school begins, I am down with the 9 AM - 2 PM time zone! Let's hope we can put some rides together like we have in the past. funny about the bath water! Pokgirl....It's been a few years since I've played with a toddler all day but I still remember the oldness. My kids are 9 and 11...

    Ridin' Solo

ditto ....all that plus I am often the slowest person in an given group. So even if I *could find ppl who rode at the bizarre times I ride, I might not be able to keep up. I do hate riding solo in Waway though. If it were up to me I'd never do that. Heidi

Mt Biking Weekend Camp-out at Mt. Allamuchy Scout Reservation

It seems super interesting to me, if there is going to be a family aspect to it. Are others going to bring their kids along with their bikes? And we'd be happy to volunteer, any time after mid August. Thx for pulling it together.

    I want....

I wouldn't mind either. And a crisp hand picked apple beats "mashed banana" from my pocket any day.

    KVSP race FYI

oh! I had a crash too! First third of the second loop. It was slippery. I know my race time probably shows up slow, but I know I gave it everything I had (because of crashing and also felt like barfing toward the end). Hopefully I will have more someday. Hope you're OK now. Ride today heal...

    KVSP race FYI

Thrilled to finish. I did not get to see too many people from this message board , I got there just on time to collect myself and get to the start. The women in my start were super encouraging. If you are reading this Heidi B, Leslie, and Christina I just want to say thanks again for that...

    Stephens - 6/10

Hey, that camp seems like an amazing opportunity, both as a summer job for you, and for the kids lucky enough to have you as a coach.

    Thinking about your first Race?

Good luck to you first time racers. You will do great. I would join you if I could. I am a very junior rider, but I like races to meet other riders, and also it is a luxury to ride on a course that is marked. A lot of times in group rides I lag behind. I actually feel less pressure in a race b/c...

    Thinking about your first Race?

I meant tomorrow, as in Wednesday but next Tuesday is fine too. I can clear time most days with a little notice.... it's after 3 PM and on weekends that I turn into a pumpkin. (Incidentally, I am not doing the race. Just coming by for the ride).

    Thinking about your first Race?

LOL, leave it to me to have a Swiss cheese theory. Things always seem so simple..for other people! Well, definitely riding with the boys is making you super fast. Pedals, and anyone who wants..I'd meet up at LewMo tomorrow if you want. 10AM? PM, text me or post here. It is a super easy...

    Thinking about your first Race?

Haha -- I can't believe more ppl don't home in on this feature. I always tell my single friends it's raining men on the trails, in an attempt to recruit them to ride w/me. (it never works). Hey, LewMo is pretty close to me...if anyone (pedals..?) is up for a mid week pre ride I am IN! It...
