Segundo, I just shortened the hose on a brand new sram guide brake this morning. Very very easy procedure. I did not feel that a bleed was required but will reconsider after a ride or two. Bottom line is that, from my experience, you should not hesitate about doing this if you need to.

Around 4" in Boonton. Rode Tourne w/ extremedave & utahjoe. Pace was slow but it was mostly rideable on FAT tires. Props to Utah running his skinny tires at 0 psi through that powder today. We laid down a lot of tracks and the trails are starting to setup nicely once again.

Trails are hard packed with spots of snow drift here and there. Good fat biking conditions. Also rideable on skinny tires. No ice to speak of. Unfortunately, there is an abominable amount of dog poop on the trails. I had to clean off my tires post-ride. I guess cleaning up after your pet is not...

I got out around 8:30 today and met trailhead at the Tourne. For sure the beginning of the ride was one of the coldest I've done in awhile. My hands hurt badly from the cold. Luckily I had chemical warmers in my pack otherwise I was done early. Got 16 miles in 3 hrs. Trails were pretty hard...

Anybody fat biking Saturday? I'm looking to hit some place other than my go to snow trails (Tourne, PP). Considering Wayway; snowmobile tracks at least. Any recommendations? - Rob

Totally agree. I ran 7/5 psi too which seemed alright on the front half but regret not dropping pressure for the return. Way more walking than I expected. I too got lost at the last road crossing! Must have been delirious at that point. As tough as it was it was a really cool event...

Very cool video, thanks. I was hoping to see him tackle NE Style though... Watching the video had me thinking Highland was going to be open for winter riding. Not the case, but the Highland website has the countdown clock going...only ~100 days to go

Eddie - off the top of my head I can tell you that icebiker, extremedave, pampa, smokey, bladsport, and I all have fat bikes and are from Morris Cty/NNJ. Rob

Ice - I was planning on the traditional Waway ride on T-day morning. If that becomes impractical due to snow, my fallback plan was a local FAT ride. Keep in touch... Rob

Thanks for posting this! I didn't realize there were age-based results. Once again this was a fun and demanding event. Weather was good, trails were dry, and the beer was cold. This year I made sure to get a good start on the first run to avoid getting bogged down in the single file traffic...

There's a tree blocking the green (Righter Mine?) trail right near the trailhead at the bottom. A few other trees down here and there (various trails), but this one really impedes one's momentum for the ensuing climb.

Very well done Ice! Great idea for the ride and an excellent job of chronicling the past & present day.
