Today I stood at the NICA blockage with the MS192 saw that wouldn't cooperate.. Mission aborted!!. I'll be back with the MS 260.
While Ed returned home to get the chainsaw repaired, I decided I'd try to do what I could solo with the rexbeti 11" hand saw. Ugghh. Nothing like being 90% through and struggling to get the last bit rocking and rolling the tree (the one on Tipi kicked my ass). I cleared the one on Hally and the one on Tipi. The one on the unmarked trail was leading me down some unkept/unridden trails, so I bailed on that one. Someone already got the one coming out of the mulch pit. I saved the one on NICA for @chainsawer bc he said it was a big one.Today I stood at the NICA blockage with the MS192 saw that wouldn't cooperate.. Mission aborted!!. I'll be back with the MS 260.
As of today it looks like someone did some brush back, but it wasn't 100% clear.--But it was ton better than it's been lately. Looks like someone did Hally recently.View attachment 265934
I assume the lake trail is still overgrown??
I was planning on brush hogging it this week.
Border/Mulch pit was also previously mentioned. Is that still of concern? (I think this is what you meant by trestle up to vistar.??)As of today it looks like someone did some brush back, but it wasn't 100% clear.--But it was ton better than it's been lately. Looks like someone did Hally recently.
IMO, the pink connector (between mazes and White/Hally/Tally) would be high on the list for brush back, as well as part of the climb from Trestle up towards Vistar.
Yeah, that looks like a beast to manage. I would think you could do a pass in each direction around the lake to future proof it a bit. IMO pink is the next most annoying to ride thru followed by border. Also thinking the short straight sections on Blue Rock/Lil maze. Maybe border doesn't require such a large machine. Maybe bounce it off @CassinonorthBorder/Mulch pit was also previously mentioned. Is that still of concern? (I think this is what you meant by trestle up to vistar.??)
I'm running the walk behind billy goat so parking is the concern.
I plan on doing a 3-4 hr session w/ @Kirt on wed the 6th
Anyone who wants to join, please send me a DM.
The lake trail is by far the easiest to cut with this machine but i'm glad to wrestle it to spots that need it the most.

It's actually not bad on singletrack. I have done the entire maze with it in the past.Yeah, that looks like a beast to manage. I don't know this trail. If I were to park at that P, do you think I could get through it w the brush hog?If anyone ever happens to drag a stihl pole trimmer deep into the park, I'd make a special request to brushback this little-used corridor.. Just for me! 😉 I use it occasionally when accessing blowdowns from the Natalie drive lot, which saves a lot of effort. I was there a month or so ago, and it was painful. I actually had to use the chainsaw to fight my way thru it.
I wouldn't really advise. I suspect It'd be just too much of an effort to move that thing around. The overgrowth is more from the sides, not the ground. So a pole trimmer much better choice...The trail is unmarked in Trailforks but you can see a hint of it on the heatmaps...I don't know this trail. Funny, @philcore80 and I have discussed exactly this. I'll see how ambitious I get tomorrow am. I wanted a quicker way over to The Golden Trail to trim there. If anyone ever happens to drag a stihl pole trimmer deep into the park, I'd make a special request to brushback this little-used corridor.. @chainsawer If I can only get one, would you rather have A or B?If anyone ever happens to drag a stihl pole trimmer deep into the park, I'd make a special request to brushback this little-used corridor.. "A" was, by far the much more severe overgrowth. I recall "B" being fairly wide open. Thanks!!!
