How is the stability with that unit? Something like that would be nice for my shop, but it isn't a solid concrete floor. I have 24x24 concrete pavers over top of 10 inches of qp and stone dust.

When the car is up on it it's rock solid however I have it on a concrete floor... I would definitely think wherever you put it should be level and stable.... as it goes up the length changes and the rollers Roll Along the floor so you might have an issue with it rolling from one paver to the next

bendpack md-6xp....looks this this without the corvette on it 🙂....goes up about 50inches high, so its perfect height to work on anything wheel/suspension level while standing...or sitting under it on my little rolling stool....I went this route bc its portable and you dont have to secure it to the floor...so when the car is done, I plan on moving it to the middle of my garage so i dont need to drive over it or in between it forever

What about those 2 bikes hiding in the corner? Have they been getting any love? I’ve been riding the shit out of mine lately. Forgot how loud it really was, ear plugs are a must. Now thinking of an upgrade also, although I can’t really crack the throttle WFO, get anywhere near 14k on mine in any gear without things getting illegal fast.

I have the Quickjack, and while it doesn't lift nearly as high as @UtahJoe's lift, it is more mobile and can be used anyplace since the base stays in place at all times. I've used it on a asphalt driveway with no issues.

I was eyeiimg up the 5k version to fit all our car including my truck, Which is at its weight limit....

ya there are endless options...you really need to sit and think about how you are going to use the lift thru-out its life.....im lucky that i have a steel building for a garage, so i have the height for a regular lift....but then I started thinking about it...after I get the car together...outside of my mustang I have only done brakes/oil changes on my other two cars (knock on wood)...in the past 2 years the mustang has been on the lift, I havent needed to move it to get my other car in there. So I just envisioned having to pull the mustang in and out in between the 2 post...and it taking up all of this space in my garage forever. The scissor gets me enough height and I can move it around and drove over it easily. Cant use it to pull/install the trans on my car though...but everything else, its been great....for this project of putting this whole car back together from scratch...omg..after 30 years of laying on the ground, its heaven.

Putting the exhaust back on the car last night...it was nice to have a spot to rest the H pipe

This is great advice. My lift is primarily for fitting another car in the garage. I often end up crawling around on the floor to do minor work because it's just not worth the time to pull out two cars, play vehicle tetris in the driveway, mess around with the ramps, etc. All told, that adds 20 minutes to the job. It's not ideal for all the work I just did either. I was lucky I had the foresight to pull the car all the way over to the right before I started (which created a huge pain because the lifting jack's arm wasn't long enough and I had to adjust the 300lb jack's center position) because I wouldn't have had enough room to get the trans out. It cleared the ramp by millimetres.
