This Thread Blows - C19 and beyond

Faulty data reporting - due to lags in data having sufficient quantities of tests available. FL has tested 33,700 people over the last 3 days, only 5.9% tested positive. State average was 10% a month ago. As a comparison, NY tested 67,500 over the last 3 days, 19% tested positive (which is down from over 30% a month ago).

FIFY^^^^^^^^

Faulty reporting of dead people? Do you mean a lag in testing the corpses or the processing of the tests or what? Is one of them going to wake up and say: "I'm not dead yet."?

There are delays in reporting deaths attributed to covid. Of the "83 new deaths in one day!" the actual deaths were over a period of days, i.e. they weren't counted on exactly the day of death.

Note that my original post did not contain the exclamation point that you inserted above^^, but yeah, there are lags, when you don't have sufficient quantities of testing material!!!!!!!!!!

I don't want to be too specific but I have an extremely credible source at a very high level in Metuchen that said the arrest came as a last resort.

whos that? Jay Busch and i go back to High School and we werent just acquaintances.

Have no idea what you are talking about - FL has plenty of testing. Testing has nothing to do with reporting deaths.

US graph - more cases per day than a month ago, but seems directionally correct.
Looks like there is a cycle for day of the week - so some testing effect that needs to be smoothed.
0.3% population confirmed, with estimates from 1-20% depending on location.

NY/NJ now represent 40% of the US cases. Down from 52% a month ago.

Lockdown fatigue is a thing now.
We'll get more informed as we watch fl, ca, ga reopen some businesses and beaches.

1. I was talking about you inserting an exclamation point when purporting to quote me.
2. If they can't test all of the dead on a timely basis, then maybe when they get the appropriate amount of testing material, there will be a sudden increase in the C19 death count. A pig in the python.
3. You say Florida has plenty of testing. Can you quantify?
4. I don't want to get the "Noble" prize here, so I will try to post less here today.

Lockdown fatigue is a thing. I find this state park closure especially infuriating as the weather gets nice it'll push people into fewer places as it already has.

Plus our government just had everyone gather in groups outside to watch planes fly overhead yesterday in the two states with the most cases...

Lack of direction from the Murphy plan will have more people just going all in with not caring. If the official end isn't in site, I call it that Memorial Day weekend is the end for most people with distancing.

They don't "test dead", it's when deaths are reported. Testing supply is greater than demand, and % positive is plummeting in step with decreased prevalence. Antibody testing to start May 1

People are there already. I had different customers yesterday riding 6MR, the D&R and Watchung.

Summit is basically open right now and seems to be more or less be back to business as usual. Cars are now parked on both sides of the street all day long like normal, plus with everyone off and riding/walking around, town is packed.
