This Thread Blows - C19 and beyond

There are plenty of businesses that could open with the same rules the supermarkets are using IMHO.

agreed. Not to get political. But. It would be nice if Murphy laid out a roadmap for businesses to reopen. Not necessarily dates, but at least which businesses would be the first to be allowed to open. His plan to reopen NJ yesterday seemed like he put more effort into the logo on the ppt than the actual plan.

Agreed - at this point he comes across more as trying to be King Sh*t than just doing sensible things to get us open. As a side note, I too wondered how many taxpayer dollars went into those powerpoints - one of which was one horizontal line and one vertical line. Considering what the person is probably making who came up with that genius artwork, I am clearly in the wrong business and have made poor life decisions.

Amazing how hand washing/sanitizing, not touching face, and wearing masks minimize the risk. The two prior should be done anyway, but that just shows that many people are disgusting humans (for the first).
Also, I understand that medical facilities have to go through a lot of masks, but I feel as though our country has enough to supply each household a couple. I’m so sick of seeing people use tshirts of their nose and mouth, along with nitrile gloves on their hands.

I have been using my balaclava. In fact, if you wear it full on, and add sunglasses, you actually look like a bad ass.

This illustrates the variance in prevalence. I've yet to hear of a single family member or friend who has tested positive.

No one in my family has tested positive, but I have 4 friends who are dead. Does that count or did I have too many friends?

Inquiring minds want to know.SOCI ALDI IMG_20200216_092855-01.jpg

New high of 83 dead in Florida in last day. 21 in the @rick81721 Tampa area.

Previous high for a day was 72 dead on April 14.

Faulty data reporting - due to lags in data. FL has tested 33,700 people over the last 3 days, only 5.9% tested positive. State average was 10% a month ago. As a comparison, NY tested 67,500 over the last 3 days, 19% tested positive (which is down from over 30% a month ago).

you know if they test more people that don’t have it the percentage goes down even if the absolute number goes up?

Of course - so what's your point? Percent positive is an indication of prevalence, which is why a sustained decline is one of federal guidelines for reopening.

Artificial change in percentage because of change in protocol. No material change.

That's nonsense. still testing those with symptoms, the only change in protocol is to allow testing of those in close contact with someone who tested positive.

For comparison in FL, April 2, 3, 4:

35,500 tested, 4,000 positive or 11.3%

As in doors and sales floor fully open to customers?

People have already been allowed in the shop, just not in the sales area. We haven't done any curbside sales, it's all been delivery. It's all just a bullshit system that protects zero of the people involved. If Liquor Stores and Ice Cream Parlors can have lines around the block, so can we.
