It wasn't me.

I don't want to be too specific but I have an extremely credible source at a very high level in Metuchen that said the arrest came as a last resort. The cyclist defied multiple police requests to leave greenway and was actually quite belligerent about the whole thing. From what I was told it almost seems like the cyclist got exactly what he wanted.

That's the case with most of these arrests, right? Cops will give a warning first and tell you to get out. Same happened to a guy running on Jacksonville Beach during off hours last week. He refused to get off the beach so they booked him.

Yeah, the guy I was speaking with about it said the last thing they want to do right now is arrest people, especially for this type of stuff. He said if the guy would have just went on his way not on the Greenway it would have been a non-issue. Apparently, the problem arises when you not only disregard multiple police requests, and ride around/past a police car with lights and sirens activated, but also make it a point to be a total dick to the officer in the process.

I 100% think that the parks should be open right now but I have no sympathy for this clown. The officer didn't decide to close the parks. He's just trying to do the job he has been sworn to do. There's no need to be a total ass and make the cop's life harder than it needs to be. I'm all for civil disobedience in the right time and place but I really don't think that was what was going on here and if it was then the offender did a pretty crappy job picking a venue.

I normally ride past the cop and pretend I didn't hear anything. I've never been stopped and doubt anyone would be if they just keep pedaling.

Being that Alcohol and Bicycles are deemed essential, I'm surprised there isn't more of this kind of thing happening.

That’s the key: when they chasing me, I just drop them like Snoop with a new Sennheiser. All the while no indication I saw or heard anything other than my gangsta rap yo. Even easier in the woods.

edit: don’t inject disinfectants
