This Thread Blows - C19 and beyond

I saw more than a few during a road ride. Scary to be riding with these morons wearing masks in their cars.
If I'm going from store A that requires masks to store B that requires masks, why wouldn't I leave it on? It doesn't cover my eyes.

No idea what mask you use but I found some N95s in my basement and they work real well and fit tightly and are as uncomfortable as heck. Mine is off the second I walk out the door of Store A.

Hah. N95s. They don't bother me too much. I use them when I'm blowing down the driveway during the worst of pollen season. (to be fair, store A is the liquor store 0.1 miles from store B, the supermarket)

I should have added that most of the people I saw wearing masks also were wearing gloves. In their car. And I could tell because they were the yellow dish washing kinds that were easy to spot.

I’m no expert. I’m just some idiot on an internet message board. But that doesn’t seem like a good idea to me.

So since we live in Morristown and it's a walking town with cars stopped at light, moving slow etc, I'd say 75% of the people I see driving around have masks and gloves on while driving.

50% of the roadie cyclists have masks on while riding solo. Probably closer to 10% of the casual cyclists.

Honestly I dont' care if people wear or do not wear masks while walking around or doing whatever, however if you're wearing a mask I'll give you even more room on the sidewalk. The only thing that bothers me is when there's a couple and only one of the two are wearing a mask.

I did 8 hours on the bike yesterday and stopped twice to refuel. Sorta interesting to see how different parts of the State are dealing with this. First 30ish miles South was on total lockdown, cops at entrances to parks etc. QuikStop was a one in one out with a mask. Ocean Ave was completely open. No masks, lines out of stores, zero distancing, bumper to bumper traffic. Then I stopped again in Marlboro and it was a return to lockdown, mask, one in, etc. My neighborhood is basically 100% shut down. Super weird. There's no standard at all. We should just open everything 100% or close everything 100%. The exceptions are all dumb.

I agree with you. Makes it very confusing to many. I wear a mask in stores but not when walking or riding outside. I do go out of my way to move if I see someone coming towards me.

Wearing gloves is a waste of time. All people have to do is wash your hands after touching something outside your home that might have been contaminated. Some seem to think this virus can penetrate the skin - even if you have open cuts you wouldn't get it.
