This Thread Blows - C19 and beyond

This was in Belmar. LAST NIGHT! I couldn't believe it. Owner should be liable. The kids need to start taking this seriously.

Why the gov hasn't told them to close, why would they? Should those attending be liable also? They should hold Costco liable for the fights people were having too...

All you can do is protect yourself, sadly my wife works tomorrow as a nurse so we're doing our part and you should do yours as that's all we can actually do.

Went to quick check for coffee this morning. Ok... Let the coffee shaming begin! Anyways... It was always self service but this morning, you have to ask the staff for your cup.

I will say that the top of skyline lot saturday... Was the most amount of cars I have ever seen.

Mine too, which concerns me a hell of alot less than the fact that my 70 year old mother is also a nurse at Newark Beth.

My wife's gym hasn't cancelled any classes and has no plan at all so she told them she's not working for 4 weeks. A regional director called to hassle her and she said she wasn't feeling well (probably allergies). That made for a short conversation.

Was riding with guys who work on Wall Street yesterday. Barclays and JP Morgan. Both organizations have created A/B teams. One team works from home (for 2wks, I think), the other goes in, then switch. The teams are not permitted to interact physically.

Another buddy flies for American. Told me he had 17 booked for his 198 seat plane today.

Wrapping my head around this from a big picture scenario. There is no treatment other than ventilator. There are only so many ventilators. The test, if available and if positive, says self-quarantine. The virus has a 2-14 day incubation period. If the world self-quarantined for three weeks the virus is deprived of new targets. What do I have wrong?

No one is self quarantining. The orange man needs to shut the country down.

can't stop it - the hospitalized-infected would still be able to transmit, and it would get out, and start again.
that and the people that don't self quarantine, are asymptomatic but infected would keep it going.
measles was gone, because of the vax, now it is back, because of internet rumors.

The infected people can still infect others, so I don't think three weeks would be sufficient. Also, this:

Good we can discuss on this forum. I was just blocked from another forum that forbid any virus talk. Someone posted why not, I agreed and said we can't ***** foot around this subject and got banned for foul language? Didn't the prez use a harsher version of the same word? (ah, I see the word is blocked here too. Rhymes with "wussy" and I too am offended by the use of the word in it's rawest usage)

Quarantining. We're doing it since Friday but had drastically reduced our contact since early last week. Reality though, may be that at this point it doesn't matter. It's out there and we've all been exposed. I believe they're trying to have the bad ER cases staggered, with the population getting it a little at a time rather than a huge balloon of people (from Belmar) all at once.

With no work for the foreseeable future, another day of long hikes with the dog, playing Charlie Parker on the @Carson mandolin and hoping my family and friends will be ok.
I do have thoughts on money on my FB/marcmullermusic. They may seem extreme and not at all trying to be political. I think there's a new reality that will drastically alter how the country will be able to buy/pay/work. I would've never thought it 2 weeks ago. See you in the woods.

We have a supplier in Italy, and despite what you hear, they are still running and manufacturing, and to this point shipping). So, I would think a complete supply shutdown (TP kinda stuff) in the US is unlikely.
My Italian vendors are shutting down production.

in your context, the idea was quiet like a cat - where tip-toe around would work.

It was used pejoratively on the board, so I made the call on pulling it after explaining why.
One of my triggers.

Does not seem to rise to the level of banning in either case.

keep writing/recording - music always helps.

"Overnight, Spain’s prime minister imposed a two-week state of alarm that mandates the general public to stay inside their homes to try to contain the spread of coronavirus. That lockdown also includes the ban on riding bikes."

Driving through Milltown about 7pm yesterday 90% of the people I saw were teens in groups if 3-5.... about 30 people in all in a 1/4 mile strip. That’s actually more people than I’d normally see at that time a day in similar weather conditions.... interesting social experiment.

Some business are still running, but you need to have a valid reason to be driving around, like going to the supermarket or going to work. 3 months jail time if you're caught out without any proper business and even more if you turn out to be infected.

I understand the reasoning but I'm not really comfortable with that. We'll see.

I will be working from home the next 2 weeks, our Corporate office in Italy has everybody working from home with the exception of a small crew providing essential services to the ones working from home. In case someone were to be found infected the place would be cleaned and another crew steps in. Literally, rinse and repeat. Not that it really matters because sales are squat right now...
