James Pearl Thinks Blogging is Dead

i think everyone who's all "what do you mean sort?" is really just trying to get out of doing chores... i mean, you guys can disassemble and reassemble bikes blindfolded and you want me to believe you don't understand the concept of separating whites, colors and towels?

First of all, I never do any bicycle maintenance. Secondly, there is literally zero point in sorting clothes. What happens if you don't sort your clothes?

you wind up with mismatched socks

Now....about folding laundry. Socks get paired and set in the draw foot side down, every other one, in roes.
Same as underwear, top of underwear one way, next pair opposite way. Pants, 1st pair legs on bottom facing left, next pair facing right.

pfft.

Nope, we are an "everyone does their own laundry" family. Wifey does hers, son does his, I do mine. I keep one laundry basket in my closet, everything goes in it. When it's full, into the wash it goes.

James Pearl Thinks Blogging Is Dead because the only thing that gets peeps excited is the proper art of laundry and dishes

p.s. there are sheets, towels, whites, colors, darks, workout wear, and delicates. The dryer protocol also varies with those descriptions.

p.p.s @MurderBort’s workout wear is its own category because ew

had this typed up before @2Julianas posted - we are laundry compatible....

do not wash dri-fit clothes with jeans or other heavy material, it shortens their life.
drifit can all go in together, as the color will not bleed

super delicate - hand wash (even if it is the hand wash cycle!)
drifit/bike stuff - cold water, low heat dry - but then set to extra dry
jeans, sweatshirts, towels - split if overloaded - white may go alone or with whites
whites - maybe with some sheets/pillow cases maybe
darks
reds - my wife is from STL, so there is a ton of red. best to keep it red.

this is very simple.

this appears to be a healthy, adult discussion of a common topic,
i respect the opinion of the 1-load group, even if they are wrong 😀

Mrs rottin' probably handles 80% of the laundry load at casa rottin' and is diligent about sorting colors etc. I follow suit for the slack that I pick up here as well. Agree with the colors being separated. I'm also in the @stb222 camp about folding socks...do it for work, riding, hiking, and everything in-between socks.

Single load in the washer (it's all dirty, amirite?)
But dual load in the dryer.
First batch is stuff I don't want (my wife to have) to iron, out and on hangers as soon as it's done.
The rest can stay in the dryer until morning.
Only exception is bike stuff hung by the chimney with care out of the washer.
And as @MissJR has said in laundry blogs past, urrrrything inside out.

Socks folded, because I'm not an animal.
T-shirts folded.
Underwear and undershirts rolled.

Shall we discuss toilet paper roll orientation next, or is that it's own thread?

Is anyone surprised about @jShort? I'm not. #uppercrust #onepercenter #myverizonwirelessbillisskyhigh

Someone define the difference between delicates and super-delicates please.

alpaca scarf = super delicate
something i wear from victoria secret = delicate
