James Pearl Thinks Blogging is Dead

Figured the bowls were in "staging" - wasn't sure if in or out. Thinking that the wooden spoon set supine vs prostrate threw me.
glasses co-mingled with mugs (which would have handles aligned), and non-strict back-to-front loading - i had to look away! 😀
Probably would have a seizure if the flatware was visible. 😉

back to front is non negotiable in my house, everytime i have to reorganize bc someone else hasnt followed protocol i get unpleasant (to be nice about it)

especially with the silverware basket, fill that shit from the back to front so i dont have to reach over dirty silverware to put more in, and i can pull the drawer out less distance as it gets fuller!

Same here. Also silverware must co-mingle in each partition to avoid "spooning", business end down, handling end up for clean unloading.

I like things organized, but don't really care about front to back loading.

However, business end down leads to less effective cleaning...

It's amazing how many things people get hung up on.
I don't like the way the dishwasher is packed sometimes, but an argument over this is really not necessary.

I don't argue. I just shake my head in disbelief and reorganize.

exactly, handles up to avoid contamination upon unloading spooning is only a problem (surprise surpise) with spoons

Not quite an option when you're married, but there have been remedial dishwasher loading sessions in our house.
ha, if i did that i would be the only one to load the dishwasher (instead of doing 90% of the dishwasher loading currently)

yeah - i prefer the quiet reorg method. Any other would result in the dishes getting nowhere near the dishwasher at any time.
that is how i ended up doing all the laundry.

fortunately im not trusted with washing anyone elses clothes so the only laundry i do is bike gear (apparently it smells bad ), but with the little bit of dishwasher loading the roommate does its not much of a risk there

i think everyone who's all "what do you mean sort?" is really just trying to get out of doing chores... i mean, you guys can disassemble and reassemble bikes blindfolded and you want me to believe you don't understand the concept of separating whites, colors and towels?

pfft.

understanding it vs feeling its a worthy expenditure of time/effort are two totally different things

also according to my wife there are like 6 or 7 piles of laundry you need to sort into, F-That
