Yet another trend in mountain biking...

Met a guy this past Saturday at KVSP who was on a unicycle w/mtb setup...had full face helmet and even a Magura brake for his ride.

Yep a buddy of mine who's been mtn biking for over 20 years has started to get into it. He said it's a great workout. It's apparently like riding a fixie, only with an additional focus on core muscles. He said hopping on the thing to start with is the most difficult thing to learn.

i thought flaming bowling pin and/or chainsaw juggling was mandatory for riding a unicycle. anything less just seems too easy and lame.

Seems like a good workout, the only thing that looks weird is their arms when they try to balance. But on the bright side think about the weight and expense savings... one wheel, one brake, one tire, no frame, talk about an xc machine, under 6lbs 🙂

Some of these guys on unicycles are next level extreme. I witnessed a guy at Ramapo ride some stuff that would make a hardcore mtbr think twice.

Yeah, it is for people who want to be different for differents sake. Been around for quite awhile.

The next trend, pioneered by @Delish at Sussex CX a few years back : Unicyclo-cross!

Saw a them at South Mtn, before bikes were banned.

Takes a lotta skill and nerve. Have not seen one in 20 yrs.
