The Best Stem I Ever Had Was...

A free Thompson as swag from competing in the Cohutta 100 a couple years back. That was awesome!

With only a few exceptions, those who don't think a Thompson stem matters are the same folks who bring their bike to the shop cause, " My bike is creaking".

Take pride in working on you own bike with parts that make it fun to work on your own bike. Respect good craftsmanship.

I hope to get to the point where I care about the stem on my bike. each bike has a generic stem. clearly I dont realize what i am missing.

Here's two of my favorites. Ran the first one on my college bike in the mid 90's. Sure, it may be branded as one of the worst mtb ideas, but if your commuting around campus over curbs and stairs, your wrists will be A OK. I couldn't part with it, but also haven't run it on anything since the 90's

This one is actually solid. Very stiff, run it on my old school trials bike. Although it's not without flaw. It's two tone because I cracked the front piece wide open. Then again I'm in the over 200lb club and not a very skilled trials rider
