SCARTOWN

They are Russian, so I can't understand sh*t!
I hope they are not singing about removing "log-stacles" or any nonsense like that 😛

Sounds like Thrice or Bullet for my Valentine, a little bit of "Cookie Monster" vocals and then some normal ones...but the music is Kick ASS!!!

Butchering The Beatles

So I got a bunch of new music that I am finally listening to...
I am a sucker for weird covers...😱

I know, not everybody's cup of tea, and of course it will never top the originals but it is a nice one...

"Butchering the Beatles"--featuring the BIGGEST, the BADDEST, the HEAVIEST all-star line-up ever assembled to honor what is arguably the greatest band ever--THE BEATLES. All-in-all, over 50 internationally known recording artists bring their unique bone-crushing slant to these remarkable songs. Produced by Grammy award-winning producer/guitarist Bob Kulick and ace engineer Brett Chassen, "Butchering The Beatles" features 12 new, a**-kicking versions of The Beatles' chart-topping hits including "Hey Jude," "I Feel Fine," and "Day Tripper," plus the more esoteric "Hey Bulldog," barked out by the legendary Alice Cooper and "Tomorrow Never Knows," uniquely interpreted by the iconic Billy Idol, alongside classic concept songs like "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds" and "Magical Mystery Tour."

When asked by Guitar Player magazine what possessed him to go all metal on The Beatles, Bob Kulick stated that, "Beatles songs are the Holy Grail. They're the best rock songs ever written. These new recordings are totally faithful, yet completely different. Billy Gibbons singing 'Revolution' or (Motorhead bassist) Lemmy singing 'Back In The USSR' are not exactly Paul McCartney or John Lennon. And of course, the guitar solo sections were lengthened to accommodate all the artists' solo styles."

I saw the Chemical Brothers at Hammerstein Ballroom on Friday - simply an amazing sound and light show. It seems a lot of people on here are in to heavier stuff but if you like good quality British dance music then The Brothers goin' work it out!

I was ther as well. That show was freakin awsome. The visuals were as intense as the music.
So good in fact that my wife had a mini seisure and had to go sit with the EMT's for a bit. they could not believe she wasn't hopped up on something.
She was a trooper and went back in for a few more tunes.
whats your opinon on the new stuff. I feel it was better live.
THAT SHOW WAS SICK!
thats why I am a huge techno, house, eletronica fan in the 'ole Ipod durin' rides.

She wasn't the one with the bag of ice, stood in front of the light/sound engineer-guy was she? I did see her. I was trying to walk through the crowd with two pints with napkins on the top to stop beer-lossage.

I prefer the older stuff but the live show was brilliant - that massive clown was an ugly bastard! Do you know the set line-up? It was more than just stuff off their new album.

Not really consuming this stuff any more, but seeing the CB at the Electric Factory on the Dig Your Own Hole tour back in the day was incredible.

Was heavily into jungle/drum & bass back then as well. Miss listening to that stuff, particularly in a club.

If you want ripping Rock-N-Roll = Gary Moore "Blues Alive"

Yea its "guitar music", but I just love a Les Paul being played thru an Overdriven Fender Amp, thats cranked up alot higher then it should be 😀
Play this sucker LOUD.

Other good "stuff" = The Robert Cray Band; Live from across the Pond

Anyone else listening to the new free downloadable Radiohead LP today?

Sooo good.

Damn I forgot about this. OK gotta go check this out. I still think Hail to the Thief is one of the best albums released in the last 10 years.
