Wednesday
Today is the day!! It's Seven day at the shop. I have 1 complete tear/down rebuild for a touring bike that's about to set sail on a 3-month tour across the US, A road bike build, and my bike came in!! WOOP WOOP!!
Here's the first project stripped and quasi-cleaned up. Bike is super cool. This guys rides the crap out of his stuff so this is a testament to the durability of the build. It's an octalink DA build we did quite a few years ago and it's still going strong after thousands and thousands of miles!! I love the back of this bike. PS, you want your Ti bike to look this good? Clean it with WD40. Pro tip of the day
🙂
Also had a Gateway build AxiomS. One of the cheaper ways to get your hands on something ti and custom. This guy went for a flip/flop thing with the decals. One side is blue...
The other side is red...
Kinda neat. I want to do the cables and bar tape the same way. Blue on one side, red on the other. Not sure if he'll go for it though, we'll have to see!!
My frame came in during this stuff so I only got to take it out of the box and pop a shot of it.
Stayed late after work to build her up. Every green thing I put on it I got more and more excited. The build came out so sick!!
Pretty straight forward build. Sram Force kit with a DA7800 chain. Green King headset and BB. Thomson X2 stem and set-back post. EC90 Aero bar and EC90SL fork. Romin carbon saddle. Those are my Hope CX wheels with a new set of Pave tubies glued up. Red cassette. 105 pedals. Green Jagwire cables. Custom green Hudz. I even dug up some green cable tips and green ti bottle bolts. BLING!!
So once again, I pegged my fit by feel, it's uncanny at this point. We're talking down to the millimeter to the Seven spec sheet. I'm gonna have Eric double-check me tomorrow just to be 100% but it feels exactly like my Mudhoney riding around the lot and such. I so can't wait to get this thing out in the dirt!! TOMORROW!! I hope it rains too:getsome:
